preline-mcpAdds Preline UI components and blocks to HTML files by querying the Preline MCP server, with rules for exact slugs and for clarifying vague requests.
The skill connects the agent to the Preline MCP server, which exposes 6 tools that return HTML, CSS and JavaScript ready to insert. It separates components from blocks, which are ready-made page sections: a request that says component follows the component workflow, one that says block or example follows the block workflow, and an ambiguous one leans toward blocks because they give more complete results.
The working rules are strict. The agent never guesses slugs and finds them through components_list or blocks_categories, retrieves and integrates one item at a time, and reads the target file before inserting anything. For abstract requests such as a pricing page, or when several candidates fit equally well, it asks you to choose, in English unless you write in another language. Reference files in the folder cover a catalog map, composite layouts and the MCP tools.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 05ca599. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

Preline UI Components via MCP loads about 2.9k tokens when it runs, and up to ~7.7k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 68 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,478 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,478 words (~2,930 tokens).

Preline UI Components via MCP fits situations like: adding a Preline UI component, such as an accordion, to an HTML page; dropping a ready-made Preline block like a hero section into a site; building a starter page out of Preline blocks.
Run `npx skills add htmlstreamofficial/preline --skill preline-mcp -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/preline-mcp in htmlstreamofficial/preline) into .claude/skills/preline-mcp in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add htmlstreamofficial/preline --skill preline-mcp -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/preline-mcp in htmlstreamofficial/preline) into .agents/skills/preline-mcp in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add htmlstreamofficial/preline --skill preline-mcp -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/preline-mcp, .gemini/skills/preline-mcp, .github/skills/preline-mcp and .opencode/skills/preline-mcp in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Preline UI Components via MCP is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: The Preline MCP server connected to your agent; An HTML file to insert the markup into.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Preline UI Components via MCP has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2.9k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 12k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 4.7k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Preline UI Components via MCP: Spartan UI Angular Components (spartan-ng/spartan, 2.9k stars), Shadcn UI (BuilderIO/agent-native, 7.1k stars), Fast Agent Design (evalstate/fast-agent, 3.9k stars) and UI Code Guidelines (razorpay/blade, 656 stars).
