data-analystAnalyzes a dataset, spreadsheet or metrics table, reports what changed and what is driving it, and recommends which chart to use for each key finding.
This skill treats a data request as a question to answer, not a table to describe. The agent works out what the reader wants to know, checks the data for coverage, errors, outliers and what each field means, computes the comparisons that matter (trends, segments, differences against a target or a prior period), and writes up the result with the headline first.
It holds the agent to a few rules: quantify findings, compare numbers against something, treat drivers as hypotheses unless the data supports causation, note gaps and small samples, and never invent a figure the data does not contain. The output has a headline finding, key findings each backed by a number and comparison, caveats and data notes, and suggested visuals such as a line for a trend, a stacked bar for composition or a sorted bar for a ranking. Spreadsheet mechanics and recurring performance write-ups are left to other skills.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 4684714. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

Data Analyst loads about 551 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 27 tokens; SKILL.md has 317 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 317 words (~551 tokens).
“Find the story in the numbers and tell it straight. The job isn't to describe a table — anyone can read a table — it's to answer the question behind it: what changed, what's driving it, and what to do…”

Data Analyst fits situations like: making sense of a CSV export or metrics dump and finding what changed; preparing a short, decision-oriented findings summary from a table; choosing which chart type fits each result before building a report.
Run `npx skills add holaboss-ai/holaOS --skill data-analyst -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (apps/desktop/electron/default-skills/data-analyst in holaboss-ai/holaOS) into .claude/skills/data-analyst in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add holaboss-ai/holaOS --skill data-analyst -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (apps/desktop/electron/default-skills/data-analyst in holaboss-ai/holaOS) into .agents/skills/data-analyst in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add holaboss-ai/holaOS --skill data-analyst -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/data-analyst, .gemini/skills/data-analyst, .github/skills/data-analyst and .opencode/skills/data-analyst in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Data Analyst is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Data Analyst has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 551 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
