What it does
A pandas-based engine recognizes 15 classic candlestick patterns: single-candle shapes such as hammer, shooting star and doji, two-candle patterns such as engulfing, harami, piercing line and dark cloud cover, three-candle patterns such as morning star and three white soldiers, and a trend confirmation. Each pattern is tagged bullish, bearish or neutral.
Signals come from a simple score: bullish patterns add 1, bearish patterns subtract 1, and the total decides between long when positive, short when negative and standing aside at zero, encoded as 1, -1 and 0. Thresholds such as the doji body ratio (default 0.1) and the shadow-to-body ratio (default 2.0) can be adjusted. An example_signal_engine.py file is included, and the code needs pandas, numpy and requests.
