talk-normalInstalls a set of rules into AGENTS.md that strips filler, hedging and padded closings from your agent's replies, in English and Chinese.
talk-normal is a one-time installer, not a per-turn workflow. Running `bash install.sh` copies the rules from prompt.md into the workspace's AGENTS.md between BEGIN and END markers, so every later reply from the agent follows them. Running the script again replaces the block in place, `bash install.sh --uninstall` removes it, and the rest of AGENTS.md is left alone.
The rules target common padding patterns: stock opening phrases and throat-clearing, burying the answer, summary closers and offers of further help, reject-then-correct phrasing, and balanced pros-and-cons essays where a short recommendation would do. They cover both English and Chinese. Updates come through ClawHub with clawhub update, followed by another run of the installer. The author reports 56 to 71 percent shorter output in their own tests.

Talk Normal loads about 931 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 63 tokens; SKILL.md has 442 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

This skill also uses 3 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.A curated system prompt that stops your LLM from writing like a LinkedIn post. Measured: 71% character reduction on GPT-4o-mini, 56% on GPT-5.4, across 10 prompts in English and Chinese, without losing information.
When invoked, this skill installs the talk-normal rules into your workspace's AGENTS.md file as an always-on behavior modifier. After install, every reply your OpenClaw agent produces follows the rules in prompt.md. The rules live between # --- talk-normal BEGIN --- and # --- talk-normal END --- markers so they do not conflict with your existing rules in AGENTS.md.
This is not a workflow skill you invoke per turn. It is a one-time installer that makes your agent permanently less verbose until you uninstall.
To install or update talk-normal in the current workspace:
bash install.shThe script is idempotent: running it again replaces the existing talk-normal block in place with the latest rules. Nothing else in your AGENTS.md is touched.
To remove:
bash install.sh --uninstallThe contents of prompt.md get injected into your AGENTS.md. The rules target the specific slop patterns that make LLM output sound corporate and padded, grouped into a few categories:
The exact rule list lives in prompt.md and evolves as new slop patterns get caught in the wild. Every commit to that file is a named slop pattern killed.
clawhub update talk-normal
bash install.shThe first command pulls the latest skill bundle from ClawHub. The second command re-runs the idempotent installer, replacing the old rule block in AGENTS.md with the new one.
Works on any LLM that honors system prompts or custom instructions: GPT-5.4, GPT-4o-mini, Claude 4.6, Gemini 2.5, Grok 3, Qwen 3, DeepSeek V3, and others. OpenClaw integration is via AGENTS.md injection, which the agent reads on every turn.
Full benchmark data for 10 prompts across GPT-4o-mini and GPT-5.4 is in TEST_RESULTS.md in the upstream repository. Average reduction: 71% on GPT-4o-mini, 56% on GPT-5.4, while preserving the information content of the original response.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Talk Normal needs a shell for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (bash). Our summary lists: Bash to run install.sh; A workspace AGENTS.md file the installer can edit.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Talk Normal is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 931 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
