skill-base-web-deployGuide to deploying and running the Skill Base server with npx or Docker: startup options, data directory, port and base path, and SQLite database backup.
This skill covers setting up and operating the Skill Base platform server, which needs Node.js 18 or newer. The quick start is `npx skill-base -d ./skill-data -p 8000`. Port 8000 is the default, and without a data directory the data ends up in npm cache paths, so production runs should always set one with -d.
Startup options are tabulated: port, host (default 0.0.0.0, with 127.0.0.1 for local-only access), a data directory that sets DATA_DIR and the skills.db database path, a base path for subpath deployment such as /skills/, flags to disable the mascot and to turn on debug logging, and help and version output. The description also lists Docker configuration, port mapping, SQLite backup and the platform's collections, tags and GitHub import.
A note on contributor profiles says the web UI has user profile pages and that the rebuilt static folder must be deployed with the updated server, with no new environment variables or migrations. The skill is limited to the Skill Base server itself: questions about the skb command go to the skill-base-cli skill, and Docker or database questions for other projects are out of scope.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 5fc42f3. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npx, pnpm and docker, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

Skill Base Server Deployment loads about 1.4k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 75 tokens; SKILL.md has 597 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 597 words (~1,361 tokens).

Skill Base Server Deployment fits situations like: hosting a private Skill Base server for a team; changing the listening host, port, base path or data directory of the server; backing up or migrating the Skill Base SQLite database.
Run `npx skills add ginuim/skill-base --skill skill-base-web-deploy -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/skill-base-web-deploy in ginuim/skill-base) into .claude/skills/skill-base-web-deploy in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add ginuim/skill-base --skill skill-base-web-deploy -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/skill-base-web-deploy in ginuim/skill-base) into .agents/skills/skill-base-web-deploy in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add ginuim/skill-base --skill skill-base-web-deploy -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/skill-base-web-deploy, .gemini/skills/skill-base-web-deploy, .github/skills/skill-base-web-deploy and .opencode/skills/skill-base-web-deploy in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Skill Base Server Deployment needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npx, pnpm and docker). Our summary lists: Node.js 18 or newer; Docker, for the container deployment option.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npx and docker, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
No licence was found for Skill Base Server Deployment or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 1.4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Skill Base Server Deployment: Reflexo Release (Myriad-Dreamin/typst.ts, 1.2k stars), Monstermq Broker Config (vogler75/monster-mq, 142 stars), Release (ar-io/ar-io-node, 127 stars) and Frontmcp Production Readiness (agentfront/frontmcp, 146 stars).
