paseo-helpAnswers questions about the Paseo app, such as setup, providers, connectivity, updates and logs, by checking the current public docs and working out which daemon is involved.
The skill answers questions about Paseo itself, not about operating agents. It starts from the published documentation: fetch the llms.txt index at paseo.sh, choose the page that owns the question, read that Markdown page, and give a direct answer that links the page. For troubleshooting it begins with the Common problems page.
Before diagnosing anything, the agent works out the topology: whether the daemon is desktop-managed, standalone from the npm CLI or in Docker, and how the affected client reaches it, through a local connection, a relay, LAN, VPN, Tailscale or the daemon-served web UI. It compares versions under Settings About and the host's Full status view and uses paseo daemon status --json on the daemon machine. Checks apply to the daemon runtime, not automatically to the client device. Operating agents and workspaces through MCP or the CLI belongs to the separate paseo skill.
2 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 29db2b7. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):
paseo.shdiscord.ggFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Paseo Help loads about 1.6k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 88 tokens; SKILL.md has 806 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 806 words (~1,609 tokens).
“You are helping a user understand, configure, or troubleshoot Paseo itself. Answer their question directly, verify the answer against the current public documentation, and include the relevant documentation link. Do not send the user away to read the docs in…”

Paseo Help fits situations like: A user asks how to configure Paseo or add a provider; troubleshooting a Paseo host that will not connect; finding out why Paseo updates, logs or versions look wrong; working out whether a daemon is desktop-managed, standalone or in Docker.
Run `npx skills add getpaseo/paseo --skill paseo-help -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/paseo-help in getpaseo/paseo) into .claude/skills/paseo-help in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add getpaseo/paseo --skill paseo-help -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/paseo-help in getpaseo/paseo) into .agents/skills/paseo-help in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add getpaseo/paseo --skill paseo-help -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/paseo-help, .gemini/skills/paseo-help, .github/skills/paseo-help and .opencode/skills/paseo-help in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Paseo Help is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: Network access to the Paseo documentation at paseo.sh.
SKILL.md names 2 domains. As links in the text: paseo.sh and discord.gg. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Paseo Help has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.6k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 6.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
