What it does

Dev Auth Bypass is an agent skill from FranciscoMoretti/chat-js. Authenticate a browser against a local ChatJS app without OAuth. Use for development login, local auth bypass, authenticated browser or Playwright testing, and the /api/dev-login route.

Its SKILL.md is about 140 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Testing & QA, covering Browser testing. It works with Playwright, OpenAI and Google Gemini. The repository describes itself as: Production-ready AI chat. Start here and make it your own. Formerly Sparka AI. The licence is Apache-2.0.

Example prompts

  • “/dev-auth-bypass”

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 7da0efb. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Dev Auth Bypass loads about 141 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 50 tokens; SKILL.md has 51 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~50
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~141

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Dev Auth Bypass

  • Given the app URL, navigate the browser to <app-url>/api/dev-login.
  • Use browser navigation rather than curl so the browser receives the session cookie.
  • Expect the route to create the local dev user and session, then redirect to the app.
  • Use this route only in development. It returns 404 otherwise.
