e-commercePlaybook for scraping product names, prices, variants, stock and categories from online stores, including paginated listings and JavaScript-rendered storefronts.
A short playbook for pulling product data out of online stores. It starts with the cheap options: check sitemap.xml for product URLs and look for endpoints such as /products.json or /api/products before parsing HTML. A checklist names the fields to capture: name, brand and SKU, current and compare-at price with currency, variants with their own price and availability, images, short and long descriptions, the category path, stock status, and ratings with review counts.
For listings that paginate, the agent looks for next links, page numbers or showing-X-of-Y text, scrolls with the interact tool on infinite-scroll pages, and compares what it has extracted against the total the page claims, continuing until the two match. For JavaScript-heavy storefronts it uses interact for rendering and watches for XHR calls that return JSON, which are often easier to read than HTML. Per-site playbooks are kept in a separate sites/ directory.

E-commerce Product Extraction loads about 344 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 37 tokens; SKILL.md has 160 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Run `npx skills add firecrawl/web-agent --skill e-commerce -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (agent-core/src/skills/definitions/e-commerce in firecrawl/web-agent) into .claude/skills/e-commerce in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add firecrawl/web-agent --skill e-commerce -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (agent-core/src/skills/definitions/e-commerce in firecrawl/web-agent) into .agents/skills/e-commerce in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add firecrawl/web-agent --skill e-commerce -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/e-commerce, .gemini/skills/e-commerce, .github/skills/e-commerce and .opencode/skills/e-commerce in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: E-commerce Product Extraction is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: Network access to the store being scraped.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
E-commerce Product Extraction is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 344 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
