Invisible Playwright MCP Setup is a skill in feder-cr/invisible_playwright_mcp (32k stars). Its SKILL.md is about 309 tokens. Licence: MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit b54f0a4. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
uvxcurlshFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
astral.shFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Invisible Playwright MCP Setup loads about 309 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 75 tokens; SKILL.md has 107 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | shAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from feder-cr/invisible_playwright_mcp at commit b54f0a4, republished under its MIT licence (© feder-cr). 107 words, ~309 tokens.
.claude/skills/setup/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). The server runs with uvx invisible-playwright-mcp and needs its browser engine on this machine once, about a quarter of a gigabyte. It downloads it on its own when it starts; while that is in flight, browser_open answers with how far the download is instead of opening a browser, and asking again a minute later is all that is needed.
To do the download ahead of time, or again after it failed, in a terminal where the user can watch it, run the block for the user's system:
Windows, in PowerShell:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"
$env:Path = "$env:USERPROFILE\.local\bin;$env:Path"
uvx invisible-playwright fetchLinux:
curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh
source $HOME/.local/bin/env
uvx invisible-playwright fetchNothing else to configure: no account, no key. Over MCP the model is the client's own.

Run `npx skills add feder-cr/invisible_playwright_mcp --skill setup -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/setup in feder-cr/invisible_playwright_mcp) into .claude/skills/setup in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add feder-cr/invisible_playwright_mcp --skill setup -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/setup in feder-cr/invisible_playwright_mcp) into .agents/skills/setup in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add feder-cr/invisible_playwright_mcp --skill setup -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/setup, .gemini/skills/setup, .github/skills/setup and .opencode/skills/setup in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Invisible Playwright MCP Setup needs the command-line tools its instructions call (uvx, curl and sh).
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: astral.sh; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (pipes a well-known installer script into a shell), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Invisible Playwright MCP Setup is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 309 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
