bump-versionBumps a project version, updates both changelogs, builds the frontend, then commits, tags and pushes the release.
Given a target version such as v1.9.0, it strips the v prefix and edits the version in pyproject.toml and in the web package's package.json, which Vite reads to show the version in the admin interface. A new entry is then added at the top of the changelog in README.md and in the Chinese README, using today's date and a summary of changes since the last release.
Next it runs npm run build in the web folder and fixes any TypeScript or lint errors until the build passes, never committing on a failed build. It stages only source files, leaving the gitignored dist folder out, and commits with a feat message that carries the version and a short summary followed by bullet points of key changes.
Finally it tags the commit and pushes main and the tag to origin. The changelog summary is confirmed with you when the changes are not obvious, and previous commits are never amended. The file paths and README names are those of one particular repository, so adapt them elsewhere.

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit a39a13f. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git and npm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

Version Bump and Release loads about 528 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 42 tokens; SKILL.md has 197 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Version Bump and Release fits situations like: releasing a new version of the project from the main branch; adding matching English and Chinese changelog entries; making sure the frontend build passes before a release commit.
Run `npx skills add escapeWu/perplexity-ai --skill bump-version -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/bump-version in escapeWu/perplexity-ai) into .claude/skills/bump-version in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Version Bump and Release needs the command-line tools its instructions call (git and npm). Our summary lists: A git repository laid out like the source project, with pyproject.toml and a web package; npm for the frontend build; Push access to origin.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use git and npm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
