9router-web-fetchFetches a web page through a 9Router server's web fetch endpoint and returns it as markdown, plain text or HTML, using one of several extraction providers.
The skill shows how to call `POST /v1/web/fetch` on a 9Router instance to turn a URL into readable content. You give it a `model` or `provider` name and the `url`, and optionally a `format` of markdown (the default), text or html and a `max_characters` limit. Provider IDs end in `/fetch` and are found by listing the web models, and a `fetch-combo` ID chains providers with automatic fallback.
Supported backends are Ollama Cloud, Firecrawl, Jina Reader, Tavily Extract and Exa Contents, with curl examples for each plus a JavaScript fetch example. The response names the provider and the URL, and includes discovered page links when the upstream provider returns them, which currently means Ollama Cloud. A provider table notes quirks: Firecrawl suits JavaScript-rendered pages, while Jina Reader has a free tier of roughly 1M characters a month and is suited to plain markdown.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit ce4460e. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
curljqFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
9router.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
NINEROUTER_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
9Router Web Fetch loads about 941 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 67 tokens; SKILL.md has 140 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Fetches a web page through a 9Router server's web fetch endpoint and returns it as markdown, plain text or HTML, using one of several extraction providers. The skill shows how to call `POST /v1/web/fetch` on a 9Router instance to turn a URL into readable content. You give it a `model` or `provider` name and the `url`, and optionally a `format` of markdown (the default), text or html and a `max_characters` limit.
9Router Web Fetch fits situations like: converting a webpage URL into markdown for the agent to read; extracting an article's text through a specific provider such as Firecrawl or Jina Reader; reading a page that needs JavaScript rendering; falling back across several fetch providers with a combo ID.

With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add decolua/9router --skill 9router-web-fetch -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/9router-web-fetch, .gemini/skills/9router-web-fetch, .github/skills/9router-web-fetch and .opencode/skills/9router-web-fetch in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, 9Router Web Fetch needs the command-line tools its instructions call (curl and jq) and credentials named NINEROUTER_KEY. Our summary lists: A running 9Router server, with its address in NINEROUTER_URL; A NINEROUTER_KEY when authentication is enabled; curl or another HTTP client.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: 9router.com; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
9Router Web Fetch is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 941 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
