A skill your agent uses whenever the user asks to create, improve, audit, or split prompts for AI video generators (Seedance, Kling, Veo, Runway, Luma, Pika, Sora, any image-to-video system).
Submits text-to-video or image-to-video jobs to xAI Grok Imagine through 9Router, then polls the job and downloads the finished MP4.

9router-videoSubmits text-to-video or image-to-video jobs to xAI Grok Imagine through 9Router, then polls the job and downloads the finished MP4.
This skill covers an asynchronous job flow across four endpoints: submitting a generation, editing an existing video, extending one, and polling a request ID's status. Request fields such as model, prompt, duration, aspect_ratio, resolution, and an image or video reference pass through to xAI unchanged.
It needs a 9Router URL, and a key if auth is enabled, plus a connected xAI account using either Grok Build OAuth or a direct xAI API key, which are billed separately. A bundled CLI one-shot command submits the job, polls it with progress output, and atomically renames the downloaded file on success.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit ce4460e. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

curlFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
NINEROUTER_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
9Router Video Generation loads about 992 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 71 tokens; SKILL.md has 319 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from decolua/9router at commit ce4460e, republished under its MIT licence (© decolua). 319 words, ~992 tokens.

Requires a connected xAI account in the 9Router dashboard — either Grok Build OAuth (SuperGrok / X Premium+ subscription sign-in) or a direct xAI API key from console.x.ai. The two are separate auth types with separate billing; the dashboard shows which one each connection uses.
Video generation is asynchronous: the POST returns a request_id immediately, then you poll until the job is done or failed.
| Endpoint | Purpose |
|---|---|
POST /v1/videos/generations | text-to-video / image-to-video |
POST /v1/videos/edits | edit an existing video |
POST /v1/videos/extensions | extend an existing video |
GET /v1/videos/{request_id} | poll job status |
Request fields (passed through to xAI unchanged — see https://docs.x.ai/developers/rest-api-reference/inference/videos):
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
model | no | xai/grok-imagine-video (prefix is stripped before upstream) |
prompt | yes for T2V | video description |
duration | no | seconds |
aspect_ratio | no | 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3 |
resolution | no | 480p, 720p, 1080p |
image | no | { "url": "https://… or data:image/…;base64,…" } for image-to-video |
video | edits/extensions | { "url": "…mp4" } or { "file_id": "…" } |
Submit a job:
curl -X POST "$NINEROUTER_URL/v1/videos/generations" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $NINEROUTER_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model":"xai/grok-imagine-video","prompt":"A cinematic tracking shot through a neon city at night","duration":8,"aspect_ratio":"16:9","resolution":"720p"}'
# → {"request_id":"abc123"} (response header x-9router-connection-id: <id>)Poll until done (echo the connection header back so the same account polls the job):
curl "$NINEROUTER_URL/v1/videos/abc123" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $NINEROUTER_KEY" \
-H "x-connection-id: <id from create response>"
# → {"status":"pending","progress":42}

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, 9Router Video Generation needs the command-line tools its instructions call (curl) and credentials named NINEROUTER_KEY. Our summary lists: 9Router URL and key; A connected xAI account (OAuth or API key).
SKILL.md names 1 domain. As links in the text: docs.x.ai. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
