find-plugin-fileThis skill should be used when needing to locate files within the Claude Code plugins cache directory (~/.claude/plugins/cache).
Find Plugin File is an agent skill from closedloop-ai/claude-plugins. This skill should be used when needing to locate files within the Claude Code plugins cache directory (~/.claude/plugins/cache). Triggers include finding tool scripts, skill files, or any plugin resource when the hardcoded path is unknown or varies by plugin version. Use when slash commands or orchestrators need to dynamically resolve plugin file paths.
Its SKILL.md is about 810 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including scripts (for example `scripts/find_plugin_file.py`).
It sits in Agent Workflows, covering Hooks and plugins. The repository describes itself as: Open-source Claude Code plugins for multi-agent software delivery. Plan-first SDLC workflow, code review, LLM quality judges, and self-learning — grounded in your codebase… The licence is Apache-2.0.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 0e20ac0. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 1 file in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
python3From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Find Plugin File loads about 812 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 93 tokens; SKILL.md has 212 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

.claude/skills/find-plugin-file/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 1 other file; get the full folder from GitHub.This skill provides a utility to dynamically locate files within the Claude Code plugins cache directory. Instead of hardcoding plugin-cache paths, use this skill to find files in ~/.claude/plugins/cache/closedloop-ai/ with automatic latest-version resolution.
To find a file in the plugins cache, run the find_plugin_file.py script:
python3 scripts/find_plugin_file.py <file_pattern># Find parse_args.py in any plugin (returns first match)
python3 scripts/find_plugin_file.py parse_args.py
# Find all SKILL.md files across all plugins
python3 scripts/find_plugin_file.py SKILL.md --all# Find a specific file using path pattern
python3 scripts/find_plugin_file.py plan/parse_args.py
# Find tools in a specific subdirectory
python3 scripts/find_plugin_file.py tools/python/plan/parse_args.py# Search only in code plugin
python3 scripts/find_plugin_file.py parse_args.py --plugin codepython3 scripts/find_plugin_file.py --list-pluginsTo use in a slash command that needs to reference plugin tools, use a two-step approach:
# Step 1: Locate the find_plugin_file.py script (handles multiple plugin versions)
FIND_SCRIPT=`ls ~/.claude/plugins/cache/closedloop-ai/code/*/skills/find-plugin-file/scripts/find_plugin_file.py 2>/dev/null | sort -V | tail -1`
# Step 2: Use the script to find the target file, then derive TOOLS_PATH
TARGET_FILE=`python3 "$FIND_SCRIPT" plan/parse_args.py`
TOOLS_PATH=`dirname \`dirname "$TARGET_FILE"\``
# Step 3: Run with correct PYTHONPATH
PYTHONPATH="$TOOLS_PATH:$PYTHONPATH" python3 "$TARGET_FILE" --helpImportant:
`) instead of $() for command substitution — Claude Code's Bash tool escapes $() syntax.code/*/skills/... can match multiple version directories. Always use ls ... | sort -V | tail -1 to select the latest version.| Argument | Description |
|---|---|
file_pattern | File name or path pattern to find |
--plugin, -p | Restrict search to a specific plugin |
--all, -a | Return all matches instead of just the first |
--list-plugins, -l | List available plugins and their latest versions |
--cache-dir | Override the default cache directory |
The script automatically selects the latest version of each plugin using semantic versioning comparison. For example, if a plugin has versions 1.6.0, 1.9.1, and 1.10.0, it will search in 1.10.0.

This skill should be used when needing to locate files within the Claude Code plugins cache directory (~/.claude/plugins/cache). Find Plugin File is an agent skill from closedloop-ai/claude-plugins.claude/plugins/cache).
Find Plugin File fits situations like: include finding tool scripts; any plugin resource when the hardcoded path is unknown; varies by plugin version; orchestrators need to dynamically resolve plugin file paths.
Run `npx skills add closedloop-ai/claude-plugins --skill find-plugin-file -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/code/skills/find-plugin-file in closedloop-ai/claude-plugins) into .claude/skills/find-plugin-file in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add closedloop-ai/claude-plugins --skill find-plugin-file -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/code/skills/find-plugin-file in closedloop-ai/claude-plugins) into .agents/skills/find-plugin-file in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add closedloop-ai/claude-plugins --skill find-plugin-file -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/find-plugin-file, .gemini/skills/find-plugin-file, .github/skills/find-plugin-file and .opencode/skills/find-plugin-file in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Find Plugin File needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: Python 3.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Find Plugin File is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 812 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
