At a glance

Runs Qwen Code headlessly with JSON output for repository work, using restricted approvals and bounded turn limits, and never the --yolo flag.

  • Works in 3 steps: Set the Bash working directory to the… → Check availability with command -v qwen.… → Run one task and exit
  • Delegating a repository analysis to Qwen Code
  • SKILL.md covers Run and Authentication And Permissions
  • Instructions only: no scripts, shell commands, URLs or credentials in SKILL.md

What it does

When you ask for a Qwen-based coding-agent result, this skill has the agent run `qwen -p` with `--output-format json` from the project you named. A finite timeout of normally 10 minutes applies, a `command -v qwen` check comes first, and the prompt is passed as one quoted argument. A structured error in the parsed JSON, or a nonzero exit, counts as failure.

Analysis uses the default restricted approval behavior, and for large tasks the agent adds bounded turn or tool-call limits. Modification tools are allowed only when you explicitly request workspace changes. The skill bans `--yolo` outright because it grants approval without any sandbox. The interactive UI and the OAuth flow are never started, and missing login, API key, model or provider settings lead to a request that you configure Qwen Code in Code Mate.

When your agent uses it

  • Delegating a repository analysis to Qwen Code
  • Getting Qwen's explanation of a failing test without edits
  • Running a large task through Qwen with turn and tool-call limits

Example prompts

  • “Ask Qwen Code to identify the cause of the failing date-parsing test without editing files.”
  • “Have Qwen Code map how requests flow through ./gateway, with a limit on turns.”
  • “Delegate a read-only dependency audit of this repo to Qwen Code and summarize what it parsed.”

Requirements

  • Qwen Code installed through Code Mate
  • Login, API key, model and provider configured in Code Mate

Workflow steps

3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Set the Bash working directory to the exact project the user named and set a finite timeout, normally 10 minutes.
  2. Check availability with command -v qwen. If it is missing, stop and ask the user to install Qwen Code in Code Mate.
  3. Run one task and exit

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit dd0767e. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash).

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Qwen Code Delegation loads about 346 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 46 tokens; SKILL.md has 184 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~46
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~346

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

description
Runs Qwen Code headlessly for repository analysis and coding tasks. Use when the user asks to delegate work to Qwen Code or obtain a Qwen-based coding-agent result.

Qwen Code

Run

  1. Set the Bash working directory to the exact project the user named and set a finite timeout, normally 10 minutes.
  2. Check availability with command -v qwen. If it is missing, stop and ask the user to install Qwen Code in Code Mate.
  3. Run one task and exit:
bash
qwen -p "<prompt>" --output-format json

Pass the prompt as one quoted argument. Parse the JSON result and treat a structured error or nonzero exit as failure. Never start the interactive UI or OAuth flow from the agent task.

Authentication And Permissions

If Qwen reports missing login, API key, model, or provider configuration, stop and ask the user to configure Qwen Code in Code Mate. Never request, read, print, or copy credentials.

Use the default restricted approval behavior for analysis. Add bounded turn or tool-call limits for large tasks. Only allow modification tools when the user explicitly requests workspace changes, and never use --yolo: it grants approval without providing a sandbox.

Example: ask Qwen to identify the cause of a failing test without editing, run the command above, then summarize the parsed result within the chosen timeout.
