pharmacy-cash-priceCall a retail pharmacy and ask what a drug costs in cash with no insurance, returning a structured price, the quantity it covers, or an explicit refusal.
Pharmacy Cash Price is an agent skill from CALLE-AI/awesome-phone-call-agents. Call a retail pharmacy and ask what a drug costs in cash with no insurance, returning a structured price, the quantity it covers, or an explicit refusal. Use for price comparison across several pharmacies, never for anything involving a patient or a prescription.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.4k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 3 other files, including reference files (for example `references/examples.md` and `references/safety.md`).
The repository describes itself as: Portable phone-call Agent Skills, apps, examples, adapters, and scheduler recipes for AI agents. The licence is MIT.
3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 38d4118. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are json).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
data.medicaid.govFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Pharmacy Cash Price loads about 1.4k tokens when it runs, and up to ~3.2k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 71 tokens; SKILL.md has 683 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from CALLE-AI/awesome-phone-call-agents at commit 38d4118, republished under its MIT licence (© CALLE-AI). 683 words, ~1,354 tokens.
.claude/skills/pharmacy-cash-price/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 2 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.A cash prescription price is not published anywhere and differs at every counter, so the only way to learn one is to telephone and ask. This skill makes that one call and returns a structured answer.
Use it once per pharmacy and compare the results yourself. It does not rank, recommend, or decide anything.
You need three things, and you must not guess any of them:
Ask one question and accept the first clear answer:
"What is your cash price, without insurance, for 30 metformin 500 mg tablets?"
Open by stating that you are an automated AI assistant, naming who you are calling for, and that the call is recorded. CALL-E does not disclose this by itself and offers no setting for it, so the disclosure exists only in the task text you send.
Handle the three things that actually happen on a pharmacy line:
This is a retail price question, the same one a walk-in customer asks all day. Keep it there.
Read references/safety.md before enabling live calls.
Send this as recipient_result_schema so the result is validated rather than parsed out
of a summary. Every uncertain field can answer unknown, because a schema with no way to
report uncertainty invites a fabricated number.

status: completed with task_completed: true. Let quote_status decide.A price alone cannot be judged, only compared. To say whether one is high, join it to the National Average Drug Acquisition Cost CMS publishes weekly, which is public and needs no key:
https://data.medicaid.gov/api/1/datastore/query/{nadac_dataset_id}?limit=5
&conditions[0][property]=ndc_description
&conditions[0][operator]=starts with
&conditions[0][value]=METFORMIN HCL 500 MGMultiplying nadac_per_unit by the quantity gives a national benchmark for that bottle,
not what the pharmacy on the phone paid. NADAC is a survey average across pharmacy invoices
nationwide, so a given shop paid more or less depending on its wholesaler and its volume.
Report the retail price as a multiple of that benchmark, say in the same breath that the benchmark is a national average rather than this pharmacy's invoice, and cite the effective date, because the figure moves weekly. A multiple stated without that qualification reads as a claim about one business's margin, which is not something a phone call can establish.

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Pharmacy Cash Price is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: data.medicaid.gov; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Pharmacy Cash Price is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 1.8k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
