Call Motivational Interviewing Fidelity Auditor is an agent skill from CALLE-AI/awesome-phone-call-agents. Offline experimental CALL-E helper that codes agent turns in health-behavior calls against MITI-4.2.1-inspired lexical categories (reflections, open questions, permission-gated advice, confrontation) and grades MI adherence, abstaining honestly when no change talk is present; not certified MI coding, a clinical judgment, or authorization to act.
Its SKILL.md is about 2.1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 11 other files, including scripts and reference files (for example `references/example-call-result-nonadherent.json`, `references/example-call-result-not-mi.json` and `references/example-call-result-partial.json`).
The repository describes itself as: Portable phone-call Agent Skills, apps, examples, adapters, and scheduler recipes for AI agents. The licence is MIT.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 38d4118. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 2 files in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
python3From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Call Motivational Interviewing Fidelity Auditor loads about 2.1k tokens when it runs, and up to ~5.5k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 99 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,014 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
The full file from CALLE-AI/awesome-phone-call-agents at commit 38d4118, republished under its MIT licence (© CALLE-AI). 1,014 words, ~2,081 tokens.

This repo is full of health-call applications - refill reminders, adherence callbacks, care check-ins - and every one of them assumes the agent coached the patient rather than lectured them. Nothing in the sibling skills codes WHETHER the agent actually practiced Motivational Interviewing: did it reflect, ask open questions, gate advice behind permission - or did it slip into "you should" and "if you keep skipping" confrontation? This skill is a heuristic lexical coder inspired by the MITI 4.2.1 instrument: it classifies every agent sentence, counts the behaviors, derives the classic ratios, and grades a coarse verdict - abstaining honestly with NOT_MI_CALL when the callee never voiced any change talk. The counts and ratios are the product; the verdict is a coarse summary, not a clinical judgment.
get_call_run and any automation that acts on how
the call went| Verdict | Meaning | Suggested routing |
|---|---|---|
MI_ADHERENT | zero non-adherent behaviors, at least one reflection, open questions >= closed questions | proceed, keep the card as evidence |
PARTIALLY_ADHERENT | catch-all: zero reflections, closed-heavy questioning, or scattered unpermitted advice below the threshold | review the weakest counters before trusting the style |
NON_ADHERENT | any confrontation or warning, OR >= 3 pieces of advice without permission | a human reviews the call; template rework before more calls |
NOT_MI_CALL | no callee change talk detected | abstain; do not grade style on a non-MI call |
Four deterministic stages, offline, no LLM:
reflections_per_question, open_question_share, and a
low_sample advisory when fewer than 6 agent turns were coded.python3 scripts/motivational_interviewing_fidelity_auditor.py craftEmits a refill-reminder goal that operationalizes OARS - open with an open question, reflect ("It sounds like..."), ask permission before any suggestion, roll with resistance, let the patient choose the next step - so the calls this skill later audits start adherent.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Call Motivational Interviewing Fidelity Auditor needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: Python 3.
SKILL.md names 2 domains. As links in the text: motivationalinterviewing.org and aclanthology.org. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Call Motivational Interviewing Fidelity Auditor is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 2.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 8.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 3.4k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
