What it does

Suggest PR is an agent skill from bitovi/ai-enablement-prompts. Suggest a pull request title and description for the current branch. Use when the user wants to open a PR, wants a PR description, or asks what to write for a pull request.

Its SKILL.md is about 650 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Development, covering Pull requests. The repository describes itself as: Prompts Bitovi uses for software development. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • The user wants to open a PR
  • Wants a PR description
  • Asks what to write for a pull request

Example prompts

  • “/suggest-pr”

Requirements

  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Bash(git fetch *), Bash(git log *), Bash(git diff *), Bash(git branch *), Bash(git rev-parse *)

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Identify the current branch and refresh the base by running
  2. Read all commits on this branch that diverge from the base
  3. Read the full diff summary against the base
  4. Suggest a PR title and description following the format below.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit df229b1. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Bash(git fetch *)
    • Bash(git log *)
    • Bash(git diff *)
    • Bash(git branch *)
    • Bash(git rev-parse *)

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • git

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Suggest PR loads about 647 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 46 tokens; SKILL.md has 241 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~46
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~647

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Suggest PR Title and Description

Steps

  1. Identify the current branch and refresh the base by running:

    git fetch origin
    git rev-parse --abbrev-ref HEAD

The base is origin/main (substitute your project's trunk branch if different). Use the remote base so the diff isn't computed against a stale local main.

  2. Read all commits on this branch that diverge from the base:

    git log --oneline origin/main..HEAD
  3. Read the full diff summary against the base:

    git diff origin/main...HEAD --stat

And the full diff for more detail:

    git diff origin/main...HEAD
  4. Suggest a PR title and description following the format below.

Output format

Output everything as rendered markdown directly in the conversation — do not create any files. Use real markdown syntax: ## for section headers, backticks around all file names, function names, and technical identifiers.

**Title:** <type(scope): concise description all lowercase>

## Description
<two or three sentences in natural language explaining the overall goal of this PR and why the changes were made>

## Changelist
- <bullet: what changed and why, in natural language>
- <bullet: what changed and why, in natural language>
- <add more as needed>

Guidelines

  • Title: conventional commit format, all lowercase, no period, under 70 characters. Use the appropriate prefix (feat, fix, refactor, chore, etc.) and include a scope in parentheses matching the area affected (e.g. feat(auth):, fix(api):, refactor(db):). Example: feat(auth): store session tokens in the database.
  • Description: high-level context for a reviewer — what problem this solves and why now. Natural language, full sentences.
  • Changelist: one bullet per logical change. Keep each bullet short and punchy — one clause, no padding words like "in order to" or "so that". Use backticks around file names and technical identifiers. Do not explain the motivation or downstream effects; just state what changed.
  • Honor your project's PR conventions — e.g. whether to include co-author lines. Keep implementation details that belong in inline comments out of the description.
