What it does

Character Consistency is an agent skill from benjiyaya/Calliope. Use when writing or improving character image prompts — sheets, portraits, and reference images that stay consistent across scenes.

Its SKILL.md is about 510 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Backend & APIs. It works with ComfyUI and SvelteKit. The repository describes itself as: Local-first AI Idea-to-video studio — FastAPI + SvelteKit + ComfyUI. The licence is MIT.

  • Reference images that stay consistent across scenes

Workflow steps

5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Anchor identity with stable traits first: age range, build, hair color
  2. One signature detail that disambiguates this character from every other
  3. Clothing described as a set, not a list — "a charcoal utility jacket
  4. Sheet intent in the prompt: for the reference image say "character
  5. Negative prompt discipline: put contradictions there (e.g. "multiple

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 0a75919. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Character Consistency loads about 510 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 38 tokens; SKILL.md has 251 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~38
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Character Consistency

Overview

Pattern guide for the character Image prompt field (Assets) — the prompt that generates the reference sheet all scene videos will reuse. Consistency is decided here, not at video time.

When to Use

  • Creating a character whose look must hold across many scenes
  • A generated sheet drifted (hair/clothing changes between generations)
  • The user describes a character loosely and needs the prompt firmed up

Prompt Patterns

  1. Anchor identity with stable traits first: age range, build, hair color and style, eye color, skin tone. These go early — image models weight leading tokens heavily.
  2. One signature detail that disambiguates this character from every other in the project ("a faded scar across the left eyebrow", "always wears a broken wristwatch"). Reuse the exact wording in every scene prompt.
  3. Clothing described as a set, not a list — "a charcoal utility jacket over a bone-white shirt, sleeves pushed to the forearm" beats five comma-separated adjectives.
  4. Sheet intent in the prompt: for the reference image say "character reference sheet, front and side view, neutral pose, plain background" — scenes want the identity, not the dramatic lighting.
  5. Negative prompt discipline: put contradictions there (e.g. "multiple people, text, watermark"), not style preferences you haven't stated positively.

When Drift Happens

  • Compare the drifted artifact with the sheet: if the sheet is ambiguous ("long hair" → curly vs straight), fix the sheet prompt and regenerate the reference — scene prompts inherit the fix.
  • If only one scene drifted, edit that scene's prompt instead (usually a paraphrased identity phrase).
