fig1-analyzeAnalyzes a repository, paper draft or reference figure into structured handoff results for academic figure drawing; it writes no prompts and generates no images.
The agent first inspects the input to decide the route instead of treating every URL as a repository. A paper or draft, judged by its sections or LaTeX and Markdown structure, yields a Figure Plan, and early notes or outlines get only an overall framework figure. A code repository yields a Semantic Architecture Handoff, and a reference figure or an image inside a PDF yields a ReferenceAnalysis. When a paper and a repository arrive together, the paper sets the narrative and the repository only verifies parameters, tensor dimensions, module names and direction.
Missing information is flagged, never invented, and an unreadable PDF or page is reported as a limit. scripts/extract_pdf_figures.py only filters candidate images by size, so keeping or dropping them is a judgment call. Labels, claims and topology of a reference figure are not copied into a new figure unless a faithful redraw is requested. The agent stops after delivering the analysis and hands drawing to fig1-draw. The SKILL.md is in Chinese.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 88c989d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 1 file in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Paper Figure Analyzer loads about 388 tokens when it runs, and up to ~5.8k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 27 tokens; SKILL.md has 92 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

任务或框架分类不确定时,再读 references/keywords.md。
论文与用户意图决定叙事和拓扑。仓库只核验参数、张量维度、模块名与执行方向,不另起一套架构。
外部风格参考图、PDF 中的图,或图片,读 references/reference-figure.md,产出 ReferenceAnalysis v1。
scripts/extract_pdf_figures.py。证据不足时读 references/missing-info-policy.md。标出缺失项,不要补造模块、边或数值。
字段与 JSON 形状以对应 reference 里的定义为准,此处不重写 schema:
academic-figure/SemanticArchitecture@1)→ references/repo.mdacademic-figure/FigurePlan@1)→ references/paper.mdacademic-figure/ReferenceAnalysis@1)→ references/reference-figure.md多种输入同时出现时,各走各的 reference,再按「论文定叙事、仓库只核验」合并。

Run `npx skills add Azhi-ss/academic-figure-skills --skill fig1-analyze -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (fig1-analyze in Azhi-ss/academic-figure-skills) into .claude/skills/fig1-analyze in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add Azhi-ss/academic-figure-skills --skill fig1-analyze -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (fig1-analyze in Azhi-ss/academic-figure-skills) into .agents/skills/fig1-analyze in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add Azhi-ss/academic-figure-skills --skill fig1-analyze -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/fig1-analyze, .gemini/skills/fig1-analyze, .github/skills/fig1-analyze and .opencode/skills/fig1-analyze in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Paper Figure Analyzer needs Python for the scripts in its folder. Our summary lists: Python to run extract_pdf_figures.py for PDF figure candidates; A PDF reader for paper text and captions.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Paper Figure Analyzer is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 388 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 5.4k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Paper Figure Analyzer: Academic Paper Writing Pipeline (Imbad0202/academic-research-skills, 51k stars), Econ Write (hanlulong/econ-writing-skill, 651 stars), NSFC Grant Rationale Writer (huangwb8/ChineseResearchLaTeX, 2.9k stars) and Paper Orchestra (Ar9av/PaperOrchestra, 679 stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
