improveJudges a pasted tip, post or video summary against what the kipi system already has, and returns adopt, skip or already-built with the files that back the verdict.
The skill runs in two halves. First it must run scripts/improve_ground.py with a target type such as rule, hook, trigger, skill or prompt and the idea in one sentence. The script prints a JSON verdict with citations to lessons paths or named files, plus a report of which lessons directories were read, missing or unreadable. It exits 0 for already-built or adopt and 2 for skip, and the KIPI_LESSONS_CORPORA variable adds more corpora to check against.
Second, the agent opens what the script cited and writes a short critique: the idea restated as a change to the system, what already covers it with the exact line, and a verdict. An already-built verdict names the file, adopt names the smallest change and a check that would prove it, and skip gives the classifier's reason. Ideas about what to build, sell, price, publish or advise a client are always skipped. The agent must not cite from memory, widen the trigger or read a corpus reported as missing.
2 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 17583bd. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 2 files in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Improve Idea Critique loads about 729 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 107 tokens; SKILL.md has 349 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

.claude/skills/improve/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 2 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.Plan item 2d of the morning-brief overhaul (Bloom's improve pass). The
founder pastes an idea. This skill answers one question: does it change how
the SYSTEM works, and is that change already here?
Deterministic (this skill must run it, never reason from memory):
python3 plugins/kipi-core/skills/improve/scripts/improve_ground.py --target <rule|lint|hook|trigger|context|skill|prompt|test|script|job> "<idea in one sentence>"It prints a JSON verdict with cites (lessons paths or named files) and a
corpora report saying which lessons directories were read, missing or
unreadable. Exit 0 for already-built / adopt, 2 for skip.
Set KIPI_LESSONS_CORPORA=/path/one:/path/two to ground against more than
this instance's corpus; the report names each one either way.
Judgment (the skill): read what the script cited. Then write the critique in this shape:
already-built (name the file), adopt (name the smallest
change and the check that would prove it), or skip (name the reason
the classifier gave). This skill fixes the system. It never decides the roadmap. An idea about what
to build, sell, price, publish or advise a client returns skip from the
script (roadmap_scope.py, fail-closed on unknown) and the skill does not
override that with judgment. If the founder wants the product conversation,
that is a conversation, not this skill.

Improve Idea Critique fits situations like: deciding whether a tip from a post or transcript is worth adopting; checking whether a suggested rule or hook already exists in your setup; comparing an outside idea against the lessons your system has recorded; getting a grounded adopt or skip verdict instead of an opinion.
Run `npx skills add assafkip/kipi-system --skill improve -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/kipi-core/skills/improve in assafkip/kipi-system) into .claude/skills/improve in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add assafkip/kipi-system --skill improve -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/kipi-core/skills/improve in assafkip/kipi-system) into .agents/skills/improve in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add assafkip/kipi-system --skill improve -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/improve, .gemini/skills/improve, .github/skills/improve and .opencode/skills/improve in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Improve Idea Critique needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: Python 3 to run improve_ground.py; The kipi-core plugin with its lessons corpora.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Improve Idea Critique is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 729 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.9k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
