Add Parser is an agent skill from aropan/clist. Add, fix, or debug a Django standings parser in src/ranking/management/modules/, including Statistic.getstandings, leaderboard scraping, and offline regression fixtures. Excludes legacy PHP schedule parsers.
Its SKILL.md is about 810 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Data & Analytics, covering Statistics, Web scraping and Backend development. It works with Django and PHP. The repository describes itself as: Your comprehensive guide to global programming contests. Track events, get details, and never miss a competition. The licence is Apache-2.0.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 827e89a. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
dockerFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use docker, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Add Parser loads about 812 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 55 tokens; SKILL.md has 359 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

.claude/skills/add-parser/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Judge parsers live in src/ranking/management/modules/. Most expose a
Statistic class that subclasses BaseModule; some extend another parser.
Read two similar modules before editing.
Implement Statistic.get_standings(self, users=None, statistics=None, **kwargs)
using the contest metadata on self (url, key, info,
standings_url, resource). Return site-specific standings in the shape
below. Use a similar existing module for the request and row mapping; there
is no shared response schema across judges.
get_standings returns a dict with at least result: a mapping of
member -> row. Common row keys:
member (required, str) — stable per-user handle/id.place, solving, name.problems — {short: {'result': '+', 'time': '01:23', ...}} per-problem.info — extra per-row data (avatar, rating, country…).Optional dict keys alongside result: problems (contest problem list),
url, options, hidden_fields, season.
REQ (from ...common import REQ) for HTTP — never raw requests. It
handles cookies, proxies, retries. REQ.get(url, post=..., return_json=True, headers=...).src/utils/: regex, timetools, and
clist.templatetags.extras.get_item for safe nested lookups.ExceptionParseStandings (from .excepts) on bad/unexpected responses,
not bare Exception.get_users_infos(users, resource, accounts, pbar) (profile/rating data), get_source_code(contest, problem).Good clean references to read: highload.py, algorithm_yandex.py,
codeforces_gym.py. For HTML scraping (not JSON) look at modules using
REQ.get(...) + parsing.
Run a relevant recorded fixture offline when one exists:
docker compose exec dev ./manage.py test --keepdb ranking.tests.test_parsersSee parser regression tests
for fixture selection and recording. Recording makes live requests and writes
fixture files. parse_statistic also makes live requests and can write to the
development database even with --no-update-results (contest problems and
event logs). Use it only when the task calls for a live parse and those effects
are acceptable; consult ./manage.py parse_statistic --help for current flags.
A parser file alone isn't enough for a new site: a Resource + its Module
(Module.path = ranking.management.modules.<host>) must exist in the DB. If the
resource already exists, just edit/add the .py. If it's a new resource, say so
and confirm how the resource row should be created before assuming.
Module changed, fixture/test commands and results, and whether any live requests or database writes were performed.

Add Parser fits situations like: tasks that involve Statistics; tasks that involve Web scraping; tasks that involve Backend development.
Run `npx skills add aropan/clist --skill add-parser -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/add-parser in aropan/clist) into .claude/skills/add-parser in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add aropan/clist --skill add-parser -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/add-parser in aropan/clist) into .agents/skills/add-parser in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add aropan/clist --skill add-parser -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/add-parser, .gemini/skills/add-parser, .github/skills/add-parser and .opencode/skills/add-parser in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Add Parser needs the command-line tools its instructions call (docker). Our summary lists: Docker.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use docker, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Add Parser is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 812 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
