spring-data-developmentMaintain and extend the arangodb/spring-data repository. An agent skill from arangodb/spring-data.
Spring Data Development is an agent skill from arangodb/spring-data. Maintain and extend the arangodb/spring-data repository. Use for Spring Data ArangoDB bug fixes, features, refactoring, mapping and serialization changes, repository or AQL behavior, configuration, and dependency upgrades. This is codebase development guidance, not an application integration tutorial.
Its SKILL.md is about 620 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 5 other files, including reference files (for example `agents/openai.yaml`, `references/architecture.md` and `references/changes.md`).
It sits in Development, covering Debugging and Refactoring. It works with Java. The licence is Apache-2.0.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 125d4b4. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Spring Data Development loads about 620 tokens when it runs, and up to ~3.4k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 82 tokens; SKILL.md has 245 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from arangodb/spring-data at commit 125d4b4, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© arangodb). 245 words, ~620 tokens.
.claude/skills/spring-data-development/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 3 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.Apply AGENTS.md. Trace the affected operation through one neighboring implementation before selecting the layer to change. Establish the intended contract from the task, API documentation, and tests, not assumptions about how another Spring Data store works.
| Concern | Reference |
|---|---|
| Ownership, call flow, or extension points | Architecture |
| Entity fields, IDs, conversions, or relationships | Mapping |
| Repository methods, AQL, or result adaptation | Repositories and queries |
| Writes, events, revisions, indexes, or tenancy | Template behavior |
| Spring wiring, driver, or dependency changes | Configuration and dependencies |
| Regression coverage or validation commands | Testing skill |
For a bug, add a regression at the failing boundary and demonstrate failure before the fix when feasible. For a feature, check that the configured driver and target server versions support the operation. Keep transport implementation in the driver, not this adapter. For a refactor, explicitly retain the affected API, document representation, and query/result semantics.
Inspect related overloads and both template and repository entry points when they share the changed behavior. Add coverage in the owning test area rather than copying the suite into a consumer project. Use the testing skill to select a focused run and the additional CI variants justified by the change.
Update affected public Javadocs and local examples. Record user-visible changes
under ChangeLog.md's Unreleased section; leave released entries intact. The main
reference manual is linked from README.md, not maintained in this source tree;
identify any required external documentation follow-up rather than inventing a
local documentation module.

Spring Data Development fits situations like: spring Data ArangoDB bug fixes; mapping and serialization changes; dependency upgrades.
Run `npx skills add arangodb/spring-data --skill spring-data-development -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/spring-data-development in arangodb/spring-data) into .claude/skills/spring-data-development in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add arangodb/spring-data --skill spring-data-development -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/spring-data-development in arangodb/spring-data) into .agents/skills/spring-data-development in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add arangodb/spring-data --skill spring-data-development -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/spring-data-development, .gemini/skills/spring-data-development, .github/skills/spring-data-development and .opencode/skills/spring-data-development in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Spring Data Development is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Spring Data Development is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 620 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.5k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 2.7k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
