At a glance

Grounds SwiftUI coding in Apple-authored documentation extracted from Xcode, with prompts for generating, refactoring and reviewing code in Apple-native style.

What it does

The skill packages the AdditionalDocumentation that ships inside Xcode, plus prompts for a router, generator, refactorer and reviewer, so the agent writes idiomatic SwiftUI instead of guessing at APIs. All factual claims must be grounded in files under `docs/`, and if an API is not there the agent says so and offers a safe alternative. When writing code it picks the relevant docs, summarizes the rules and produces compile-ready Swift; when reviewing, it lists issues and names the docs used.

The `docs/` folder starts empty and is filled by running `setup.sh` from the installed skill directory. If it holds no markdown files, the agent tells you to run the script and gives no SwiftUI guidance until the docs exist. It asks at most one clarifying question, and only when the answer changes the architecture. Answers follow a fixed format: selected docs, a short plan, the code, why it matches the Apple docs, and pitfalls, with availability notes when APIs are new.

When your agent uses it

  • Writing a new SwiftUI view that should follow Apple's documented patterns
  • Reviewing SwiftUI code against Apple's own guidance
  • Refactoring a SwiftUI screen without inventing APIs

Example prompts

  • “Write a SwiftUI settings screen with a list of toggles, using the Apple docs as the source.”
  • “Review this SwiftUI view and cite which docs each issue comes from.”
  • “Refactor ProfileView.swift to be more idiomatic and note any availability limits.”

Requirements

  • Xcode, whose bundled documentation `setup.sh` extracts into `docs/`
  • A one-time run of `setup.sh` after install

Workflow steps

5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Selected docs (filenames)
  2. Plan (3 to 6 bullets)
  3. Code (full files or a single cohesive snippet)
  4. Why this matches Apple docs (2 to 5 bullets)
  5. Pitfalls (short)

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit c7d3315. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

Ships script files (Shell), which the agent can run.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

SwiftUI Skills loads about 465 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 41 tokens; SKILL.md has 199 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~41
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~465

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Apple-authored SwiftUI and platform guidance extracted from Xcode. Helps AI agents write idiomatic, Apple-native SwiftUI with reduced hallucinations.

swiftui-skills

What this is

A packaged set of Apple-authored AdditionalDocumentation shipped inside Xcode, plus prompts that enforce Apple-native patterns and reduce hallucinations for developer-focused coding workflows.

Source of truth

All factual claims and APIs must be grounded in files under /docs.

How to use

  • If you are writing code: pick the relevant doc(s), summarize the applicable rules, then produce compile-ready Swift code.
  • If you are reviewing code: list issues and improvements, referencing doc(s) used.
  • If uncertain: ask at most 1 question, only if the answer changes architecture.

Setup check

If the docs/ folder is empty or contains no .md files, the Xcode documentation has not been extracted yet. Tell the user to run the setup script from the installed skill directory:

# Shared agent install
~/.agents/skills/swiftui-skills/setup.sh

# OpenClaw shared install
~/.openclaw/skills/swiftui-skills/setup.sh

# OpenClaw workspace install
./skills/swiftui-skills/setup.sh

# Project-local agent install
./.agents/skills/swiftui-skills/setup.sh

Do not proceed with SwiftUI guidance until docs are available.

Non-negotiables

  • Do not invent types or APIs. If it is not in /docs, say so and offer a safe alternative.
  • Prefer minimal, idiomatic SwiftUI and platform conventions.
  • Include availability notes when APIs are new.

Output format

  1. Selected docs (filenames)
  2. Plan (3 to 6 bullets)
  3. Code (full files or a single cohesive snippet)
  4. Why this matches Apple docs (2 to 5 bullets)
  5. Pitfalls (short)
