Prepare a Terrae component for release by running all checks and builds

What it does

Release is an agent skill from alamenai/terrae. Prepare a Terrae component for release by running all checks and builds

Its SKILL.md is about 310 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Development. It works with Mapbox and React. The repository describes itself as: Composable and animated components that replace imperative layers with simple props. The perfect companion for shadcn/ui. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • Development work in your project

Example prompts

  • “/release”

Requirements

  • Node.js
  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Bash(npx tsc *), Bash(npm run *)

Workflow steps

6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Pre-release Checklist
  2. Build Registry
  3. Build Project
  4. Report Status
  5. Final Verification
  6. Do NOT

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit ea9a480. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Bash(npx tsc *)
    • Bash(npm run *)

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • npm
    • npx

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npm and npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Release loads about 311 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 20 tokens; SKILL.md has 112 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~20
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~311

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Release Skill

Prepare a Terrae component for release.

Instructions

  1. Pre-release Checklist Run these checks in order:

    a. Type Check

    bash
    npx tsc --noEmit

    b. Lint

    bash
    npm run lint

    c. Format Check

    bash
    npm run format:check

    d. Tests

    bash
    npm run test:run
  2. Build Registry If all checks pass:

    bash
    npm run registry:build

This builds the component registry to ./public/maps.

  3. Build Project

    bash
    npm run build

This runs the Next.js production build.

  4. Report Status

    • Show results of each step
    • If any step fails, stop and report the issue
    • Offer to help fix any issues found
  5. Final Verification

    • Confirm all checks passed
    • Show the built files in ./public/maps
    • Remind user to commit changes if needed
  6. Do NOT

    • Automatically push to remote
    • Automatically create tags or releases
    • Modify version numbers without explicit request

Questions about Release

What does Release do?

Prepare a Terrae component for release by running all checks and builds. Release is an agent skill from alamenai/terrae.

When should I use Release?

Release fits situations like: development work in your project.

How do I install Release in Claude Code?

Run `npx skills add alamenai/terrae --skill release -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/release in alamenai/terrae) into .claude/skills/release in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

How do I install Release in Codex?

Run `npx skills add alamenai/terrae --skill release -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/release in alamenai/terrae) into .agents/skills/release in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.

Can I use Release in Cursor, Gemini CLI or GitHub Copilot?

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add alamenai/terrae --skill release -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/release, .gemini/skills/release, .github/skills/release and .opencode/skills/release in your project.

What does Release need to run?

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Release needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npm and npx). Our summary lists: Node.js. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash(npx tsc *), Bash(npm run *).

Does Release access the network?

SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npm and npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.

Is Release safe to install?

Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

What licence does Release use?

Release is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.

How many tokens does Release use?

About 311 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.

What are the alternatives to Release?

Skills that share tags, products or a category with Release: Vercel Composition Patterns (supabase/supabase, 111k stars), Electron Multi-Process Architecture (iOfficeAI/AionUi, 33k stars), Nx Generate (nomcopter/react-mosaic, 4.8k stars) and @pierre/diffs Code Rendering (pierrecomputer/pierre, 6.3k stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.

Who maintains Release?

alamenai (a GitHub user) maintains it in alamenai/terrae, which has 244 GitHub stars. The repository holds 11 skills in this directory. The repository was last updated on April 6, 2026.
