At a glance

Gives the allowed_tools and skills preset for each OMP sub-agent role, to apply when calling spawn_subagent.

  • Setting allowed_tools before dispatching a sub-agent
  • SKILL.md covers Role Definitions and Usage
  • Instructions only: no scripts, shell commands, URLs or credentials in SKILL.md
  • Looking up what a role such as critic or code-reviewer may do

What it does

When an agent dispatches sub-agents with `spawn_subagent`, in single or batch mode, this skill tells it which `allowed_tools` and `skills` values to set for each role. Role names include executor, architect, analyst, critic, security-reviewer, code-reviewer, qa-tester, planner, explore, debugger and verifier. Each entry gives the tool list and a boundary statement for what the role may and may not do.

For example, the executor inherits all tools and skills; the architect, analyst and planner can read, search and write files but produce no implementation code; the critic gets read and search tools only; and the security reviewer, code reviewer and QA tester can run shell commands, with the reviewers barred from modifying files. The skill names `shared/constants.py` and `role_prompts.py` as the canonical source in code and insists that tool strings match registered ToolRegistry names rather than invented aliases.

When your agent uses it

  • Setting allowed_tools before dispatching a sub-agent
  • Looking up what a role such as critic or code-reviewer may do
  • Running an ultrawork, ralph, autopilot, ultraqa or team workflow step that needs role configuration

Example prompts

  • “Spawn a code-reviewer sub-agent for this diff with the right allowed_tools.”
  • “Show the tools and skills preset for the qa-tester role.”
  • “Dispatch an architect and a critic in batch mode, each with its role's tool list.”

Requirements

  • An OMP workflow environment that provides spawn_subagent

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit d7a0f50. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

    Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

    From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

    From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

    From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

    Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

    From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

OMP Sub-Agent Role Presets loads about 1.1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 119 tokens; SKILL.md has 305 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~119
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.1k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

description
Use this skill whenever you need the allowed_tools / skills preset for a sub-agent role before calling spawn_subagent. Trigger especially when user mentions: "role", "spawn_subagent", "allowed_tools", or any OMP role name (executor, architect, analyst, critic, security-reviewer, code-reviewer, qa-tester, planner, explore, debugger, verifier). Also use when a /ultrawork, /ralph, /autopilot, /ultraqa, or /team workflow step asks for role tool/skill configuration.

OMP Role Tool Configuration

When using spawn_subagent (single or batch mode) to dispatch sub-agents, set the corresponding allowed_tools and skills parameters based on the sub-agent's role.

Canonical source of truth in code: plugins/bundle/omp_workflows/shared/constants.py (ROLE_ALLOWED_TOOLS, ROLE_SKILLS, TOOL_* names) and shared/role_prompts.py (ROLE_PROMPTS, build_worker_prompt, format_spawn_call). Tool strings must match registered ToolRegistry names — do not invent aliases.

Usage

text
spawn_subagent(
    task="<role identity from ROLE_PROMPTS>\n\n## Task\n<task description>",
    allowed_tools=<ROLE_ALLOWED_TOOLS[role] or omit if null>,
    skills=<ROLE_SKILLS[role] or omit if null>,
    fork=True, # if worktree isolation needed
    background=True, # if background execution needed
)

When allowed_tools or skills is null, omit the parameter (uses default None). For batch mode, pass task="" and put per-item role config in each batch dict.

Role names include executor, architect, analyst, critic, security-reviewer, code-reviewer, qa-tester, planner, explore, debugger and verifier.

When should I use OMP Sub-Agent Role Presets?

OMP Sub-Agent Role Presets fits situations like: setting allowed_tools before dispatching a sub-agent; looking up what a role such as critic or code-reviewer may do; running an ultrawork, ralph, autopilot, ultraqa or team workflow step that needs role configuration.

How do I install OMP Sub-Agent Role Presets in Claude Code?
