openchatcutConnects an MCP-capable agent to the local OpenChatCut video editor to inspect and edit projects through draft edit sessions, with manual approval by default.
OpenChatCut is a local-first video editor built for agents, and this skill is its single outside entry point. It routes you to three reference files: one for installing, connecting and diagnosing the MCP server, one for the editing workflow when inspecting or changing a project, and one for known errors such as a failed tool call, a stale session or a missing editor. Specialized editing guidance stays inside the running editor and is loaded on demand with load_skill.
The essentials run in a fixed order. The editor must be started first, since the default MCP endpoint is on localhost port 5199. The agent calls openchatcut_status and then list_projects, choosing a project only when you name it or the context makes it clear. Before reading or editing, it begins an edit session and passes the editSessionId to every draft-safe tool. Approval is manual unless you ask for unattended changes, and success is reported only once the session shows as applied. When the server expects a newer skill version, the update command is npx skills update openchatcut.

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
OpenChatCut Video Editing loads about 655 tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.5k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 89 tokens; SKILL.md has 270 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

About 655 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 1.8k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
