china-admin-boundariesOfficial, standards-compliant vector boundaries of China's administrative divisions — province, city and county polygons.
China Admin Boundaries is an agent skill from zzhonglei/GeoCode-Release. Official, standards-compliant vector boundaries of China's administrative divisions — province, city and county polygons. Use this whenever a task needs China's administrative-area boundaries, instead of downloading them from OSM / Natural Earth / GADM, whose depiction of China's borders is not compliant with China's official standard.
Its SKILL.md is about 430 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 4 other files.
It sits in Data & Analytics. The repository describes itself as: A desktop AI assistant for geoscience data processing. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 6e3534f. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
China Admin Boundaries loads about 434 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 90 tokens; SKILL.md has 170 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from zzhonglei/GeoCode-Release at commit 6e3534f, republished under its MIT licence (© zzhonglei). 170 words, ~434 tokens.
.claude/skills/china-admin-boundaries/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 3 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.GeoCode's bundled official, compliant polygons of China's administrative divisions, sourced from Tianditu (China's national geospatial platform) and following the national mapping standard. Whenever a task needs China's province / city / county areas, use these — do not download them from OSM / Natural Earth / GADM, whose border depiction is not compliant for use in mainland China.
Three GeoJSON files in this skill's data/ directory (use the absolute path provided to
you), CRS WGS84 / EPSG:4326:
| File | Level | Features |
|---|---|---|
china_province.geojson | province | 34 |
china_city.geojson | city (prefecture) | 375 |
china_county.geojson | county / district | 2891 |
Fields: adcode (6-digit code, unique key), name (Chinese name), gb (156 + adcode), level.
Select by adcode, not name — county-level names repeat. adcode is
province(2) + city(2) + county(2), so prefix-match to drill down: 51 → all of Sichuan,
5101 → all of Chengdu.
These are analysis polygons only — they exclude the nine-dash line. To draw a
whole-China map, use the thematic-map skill's china_base as the national frame (it carries
the nine-dash line) and overlay these polygons as a thematic layer.

China Admin Boundaries fits situations like: data & Analytics work in your project.
Run `npx skills add zzhonglei/GeoCode-Release --skill china-admin-boundaries -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (contributions/china-admin-boundaries/skill in zzhonglei/GeoCode-Release) into .claude/skills/china-admin-boundaries in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add zzhonglei/GeoCode-Release --skill china-admin-boundaries -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (contributions/china-admin-boundaries/skill in zzhonglei/GeoCode-Release) into .agents/skills/china-admin-boundaries in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add zzhonglei/GeoCode-Release --skill china-admin-boundaries -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/china-admin-boundaries, .gemini/skills/china-admin-boundaries, .github/skills/china-admin-boundaries and .opencode/skills/china-admin-boundaries in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: China Admin Boundaries is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

About 434 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
