What it does

Codebase Review Swarm is an agent skill from ZaxbyHub/opencode-swarm. Codex adapter for running a rigorous, quote-grounded codebase review or security/QA/accessibility/performance/AI-slop/enhancement audit. Use for full-repo or large-subsystem review reports; not for normal implementation.

Its SKILL.md is about 380 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files (for example `agents/openai.yaml`).

It sits in Frontend & Design. The repository describes itself as: Architect-centric agentic swarm plugin for OpenCode. Hub-and-spoke orchestration with SME consultation, code generation, and QA review. The licence is MIT.

Example prompts

  • “/codebase-review-swarm”

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit b63a4bd. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Codebase Review Swarm loads about 376 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 61 tokens; SKILL.md has 159 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~61
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~376

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Codebase Review Swarm

Read and follow ../../../.opencode/skills/codebase-review-swarm/SKILL.md as the canonical workflow.

Codex Execution Notes

  • Treat this as a read-only review workflow. Do not modify source files.
  • Write review artifacts only under .swarm/review-v8/runs/<run_id>/.
  • Run Phase 0 inventory first and stop for review-mode selection unless the user already selected tracks and explicitly authorized continuing.
  • Preserve the skill's evidence rule: no quote, no claim.
  • For dispatch lanes, only if the session actually exposes the controller's lane tools, treat output as a preview and call retrieve_lane_output for full output_ref artifacts before consuming ledgers, counting candidates, routing validation, or declaring coverage clean; when those tools are absent, treat inline output as the full artifact and disclose any truncation as an explicit coverage limitation.
  • Use rg, focused file reads, targeted shell commands, and independent validation to close coverage units before writing the final report.
  • If the user asks for fixes after the report, start a separate implementation workflow rather than editing during the review run.
