At a glance

Guides edits to the Repomix documentation site's VitePress configuration, per-language content, and translation workflow across 14 languages.

  • Works in 4 steps: Create config/configXx.ts based on… → Import and add to locales in config.ts → Add search config to configShard.ts → …
  • Adding a new language to the Repomix documentation site
  • SKILL.md covers Structure, Adding New Language, Editing Content and Translation Guidelines
  • Instructions only: no scripts, shell commands, URLs or credentials in SKILL.md

What it does

This skill is a guide to the Repomix docs website, a VitePress site with content in 14 languages. It maps out where things live: a shared config file that imports every locale, per-language config files, and per-language content folders.

It walks through adding a new supported language - creating that language's config file from an existing one, registering it in the shared locale list and search config, and copying the English content folder as a starting point - and separates day-to-day content edits from navigation and sidebar edits and shared settings like the logo and footer.

For translation it treats the English content as the source of truth, and asks for code examples and CLI options to stay unchanged while only UI labels such as the nav, sidebar and search modal text get translated.

When your agent uses it

  • Adding a new language to the Repomix documentation site
  • Editing a guide page or its navigation in one language
  • Translating UI labels without touching code examples

Example prompts

  • “Add Portuguese as a new supported language on the docs site.”
  • “Update the installation guide in the Japanese docs to match English.”
  • “Translate the sidebar labels in the Korean config to Korean.”

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Create config/configXx.ts based on existing (exports config + search translations)
  2. Import and add to locales in config.ts
  3. Add search config to configShard.ts
  4. Create src/xx/ directory with content (copy from en/)

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 8d64291. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Repomix Website Maintainer loads about 342 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 48 tokens; SKILL.md has 87 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~48
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~342

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Adding New Language

  1. Create config/configXx.ts based on existing (exports config + search translations)
  2. Import and add to locales in config.ts
  3. Add search config to configShard.ts
  4. Create src/xx/ directory with content (copy from en/)

Editing Content

  • Documents: Edit src/[lang]/guide/*.md (e.g., src/ja/guide/installation.md)
  • Navigation/Sidebar: Edit config/config[Lang].ts → themeConfig.sidebar
  • Shared settings (logo, footer): Edit configShard.ts

Translation Guidelines

  • English (src/en/) is source of truth
  • Keep code examples and CLI options unchanged
  • Translate UI labels in config file (nav, sidebar, search modal)
