research-paper-writingDrafts, rewrites and reviews academic papers in ML, CV and NLP style, section by section, and compiles LaTeX sources to PDF.
The agent plays an experienced co-author aiming for a draft that survives skeptical reviewers, with a clear story, one message per paragraph and evidence behind every claim. It first routes the request using a table that maps each situation to one reference guide, loading only that guide: paragraph polish, abstract, introduction, related work, method, experiments, conclusion and limitations, a pre-submission review in five adversarial dimensions, and PDF export. Bullet points or Chinese notes are treated as section drafting.
Before writing, the agent collects the facts: the exact technical problem and why prior methods fail, the contribution, why the method works, and the strongest numbers. It asks at most three focused questions and never fills gaps by inventing. When the draft is in `.tex` or Markdown files, it edits in place and keeps every citation, reference, label, comment and math environment untouched unless the edit concerns them. The folder includes example templates for abstracts and introductions.

Research Paper Writing Coach loads about 1.7k tokens when it runs, and up to ~24k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 164 tokens; SKILL.md has 819 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from XiaomiMiMo/MiMo-Code at commit 38f4c45, republished under its MIT licence (© XiaomiMiMo). 819 words, ~1,743 tokens.

This skill also uses 36 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.Act as an experienced co-author who has published at top ML/CV/NLP venues. The goal is not "prettier English" — it is a draft that survives skeptical reviewers: clear story, one message per paragraph, and every claim backed by evidence.
Match the user's situation and load ONLY the needed reference (do not preload all):
| User situation | What to do | Load |
|---|---|---|
| "Polish this paragraph / does this flow?" | Quick polish pass (see below) | references/paragraph-flow.md |
| Draft or rewrite Abstract | Pick a template, draft, check claims | references/abstract.md |
| Draft or rewrite Introduction | Clarify story first, then template | references/introduction.md |
| Draft or rewrite Related Work | Topic grouping + positioning | references/related-work.md |
| Draft or rewrite Method | Module triad workflow | references/method.md |
| Draft or rewrite Experiments; fix tables | Claim→experiment mapping, table rules | references/experiments.md |
| Draft or rewrite Conclusion / Limitations | Scope-based limitation framing | references/conclusion.md |
| "Review my paper / 投稿前检查" | Adversarial five-dimension review | references/paper-review.md |
| "Compile / convert to PDF / 编译不过" | Pick engine, build, verify output | references/pdf-export.md |
| Bullet points / Chinese notes → English section | Treat as section drafting; get facts first, then draft | the matching section guide |
If the user's draft lives in files (.tex, .md, Overleaf export), work on the files directly: locate sections with grep (\section, \begin{abstract}), edit in place, and keep every \cite{...}, \ref{...}, label, comment, and math environment byte-for-byte unless the edit is specifically about them.
Good paper writing is mostly correct facts arranged well. Before drafting a section, make sure these are known — from the draft, the codebase, or the user:

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Research Paper Writing Coach is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: A LaTeX installation for compiling `.tex` sources to PDF.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Research Paper Writing Coach is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.7k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 23k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
