At a glance

Builds an AI short film in a local ComfyUI with the VRGDG Video Builder, MiniMax H3 scenes, reference images, a music score, QA and a final edit.

  • Works in 4 steps: Run python scripts/install_missing.py… → Show the user what's missing, the sizes… → Only after the user clearly agrees,… → …
  • Creating a short narrative film or dialogue scene in ComfyUI from a screenplay
  • SKILL.md covers Ground rules, Workflow, Prompt rules (the lint… and Fixing takes, plus 2 more sections
  • Runs Python scripts from its folder; calls python

What it does

The agent drives your own ComfyUI over HTTP using bundled Python scripts. It starts by checking the install, then creates a project folder with settings, screenplay, image spec and score files. From there the scripts build prompts, generate reference images, render scenes with MiniMax H3, make music with Music 3 or YuE2, run automatic QA and assemble the final cut, with extra helpers for continuity frames, retrimming, a cut sheet and a social kit.

Ground rules keep it safe: the ComfyUI install and custom nodes are read-only, nothing is downloaded or installed without your clear agreement, and a report-only installer lists missing models and node packs with sizes before a second run adds them. When you review the film, the agent fixes one note at a time and shows each result. ComfyUI only needs to be running, and a scene logged as interrupted should simply be rendered again.

When your agent uses it

  • Creating a short narrative film or dialogue scene in ComfyUI from a screenplay
  • Re-rendering or fixing individual scenes after a review
  • Scoring a film with generated music and assembling the final cut
  • Checking whether a ComfyUI install has the models and nodes the pipeline needs

Example prompts

  • “Make a two-minute short film about a lighthouse keeper using the VRGDG Video Builder.”
  • “Run the environment check on my ComfyUI folder and tell me what is missing.”
  • “Scene three looks off, so re-render it and show me the result before changing anything else.”

Requirements

  • A running ComfyUI install with the VRGDG nodes
  • Python 3.9 or newer
  • ffmpeg
  • Models for H3, Z-Image and a music engine

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Run python scripts/install_missing.py --comfy-root "" (report only; it changes nothing).
  2. Show the user what's missing, the sizes and where each file goes.
  3. Only after the user clearly agrees, re-run it with --yes. Add --groups h3,zimage,music3 for the groups they
  4. If node packs were installed, ask the user to restart ComfyUI, then run check_env.py again.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 3432b03. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

Ships 16 files in scripts/ (Python, from the files we listed), which the agent can run.

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • python

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

VRGDG H3 Short Film Pipeline loads about 4.2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 96 tokens; SKILL.md has 2,465 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~96
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~4.2k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

SKILL.md

Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 2,465 words (~4,248 tokens).

“This skill drives the user's own ComfyUI through HTTP: the Video Builder's routes for images, H3 scenes, trims and stitching, plus core nodes for music. Every script is in scripts/ next to this file; run them with any Python 3.9+…”
