Daily Focus Board
github/awesome-copilot
Builds a warm, browser-based daily focus board the user updates by talking to their agent, with Eisenhower priorities, a brain-dump box and kind not-today carryover.
Ask a focused question about another vlx-term session without importing its full conversation into the current context.

vaskAsk a focused question about another vlx-term session without importing its full conversation into the current context.
Vask is an agent skill from vlinx-io/VelaTerm. Ask a focused question about another vlx-term session without importing its full conversation into the current context. This is the skill form of vrefer SESSION --ask "QUESTION". Use it when the target session is known and the user needs a conclusion, decision, result, reason, or status from it. Read-only: nothing is sent to the target session and nobody is interrupted. Available only inside vlx-term-hosted local sessions.
Its SKILL.md is about 540 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
The repository describes itself as: VelaTerm = Codex + iTerm2, The Best ADE for AI Coding. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 98b5f2f. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
Bash(vrefer:*)Bash(vsearch:*)From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Vask loads about 538 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 108 tokens; SKILL.md has 227 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from vlinx-io/VelaTerm at commit 98b5f2f, republished under its MIT licence (© vlinx-io). 227 words, ~538 tokens.
.claude/skills/vask/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Use vask as the focused-question form of vrefer --ask. There is no separate shell command: invoke
the existing read-only command with the session reference and the user's question.
vrefer <session> --ask "<question>"If the target is not known, search first:
vsearch <distinctive words...>
vrefer <id-from-search> --ask "<question>"<session> accepts a full id, an id prefix of at least eight characters, an exact session name, or a
unique substring. Quote names containing spaces. If several sessions match, select an id from the
candidate list and retry rather than guessing.
By default the answering agent receives the complete transcript. If the user enabled Summarize first
in Settings → Agents, VelaTerm compresses the transcript with the one globally selected Agent, model,
and reasoning effort, adds relevant original full-text search excerpts from the same session, and then
asks the answering agent. This setting is automatic; the skill command and --ask syntax do not change.
Use --with <kind> only when the user explicitly wants a particular answering agent. It does not
change the configured pre-summary Agent. Use --timeout <seconds> when the default 120-second overall
limit is unsuitable.
The returned text is an agent's reading of another session, not a verbatim transcript. When exact wording
or broader context matters, follow up with vrefer <session> or vrefer <session> --range A:B.
If answering fails, vrefer explains the reason on stderr and returns the transcript as its fallback.
Check stderr before treating stdout as a completed answer.

Vask fits situations like: the target session is known and the user needs a conclusion.
Run `npx skills add vlinx-io/VelaTerm --skill vask -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/vask in vlinx-io/VelaTerm) into .claude/skills/vask in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add vlinx-io/VelaTerm --skill vask -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/vask in vlinx-io/VelaTerm) into .agents/skills/vask in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add vlinx-io/VelaTerm --skill vask -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/vask, .gemini/skills/vask, .github/skills/vask and .opencode/skills/vask in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Vask is instructions for the agent only. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash(vrefer:*), Bash(vsearch:*).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Vask is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 538 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
