agentmailGive the agent its own dedicated email inbox via AgentMail. An agent skill from Tommy-yw/RunbookHermes.
Agentmail is an agent skill from Tommy-yw/RunbookHermes. Give the agent its own dedicated email inbox via AgentMail. Send, receive, and manage email autonomously using agent-owned email addresses (e.g. hermes-agent@agentmail.to).
Its SKILL.md is about 1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Productivity & Automation, covering Email management. It works with Model Context Protocol. The repository describes itself as: Hermes-native AIOps agent for evidence-driven incident response, approval-gated remediation, and runbook learning. The licence is MIT.
3 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 7fd2b9a. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
npxpipFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):
console.agentmail.todocs.agentmail.togithub.comagentmail.toFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
AGENTMAIL_API_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Agentmail loads about 1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 46 tokens; SKILL.md has 425 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
key — MCP env vars are not expanded from .env):Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from Tommy-yw/RunbookHermes at commit 7fd2b9a, republished under its MIT licence (© Tommy-yw). 425 words, ~1,030 tokens.

Agentmail fits situations like: tasks that involve Email management.
Run `npx skills add Tommy-yw/RunbookHermes --skill agentmail -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (optional-skills/email/agentmail in Tommy-yw/RunbookHermes) into .claude/skills/agentmail in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add Tommy-yw/RunbookHermes --skill agentmail -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (optional-skills/email/agentmail in Tommy-yw/RunbookHermes) into .agents/skills/agentmail in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add Tommy-yw/RunbookHermes --skill agentmail -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/agentmail, .gemini/skills/agentmail, .github/skills/agentmail and .opencode/skills/agentmail in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Agentmail needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npx and pip) and credentials named AGENTMAIL_API_KEY. Our summary lists: Python 3; Node.js; A credential in AGENTMAIL_API_KEY.
SKILL.md names 4 domains. As links in the text: console.agentmail.to, docs.agentmail.to, github.com and agentmail.to. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (mentions a .env file), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Agentmail is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
