triage-improvementsTriage the improvements backlog at .turbo/improvements.md: merge duplicate entries, state the user story or simplification behind each one, and decide with the user which to keep and which to drop.
Triage Improvements is an agent skill from tobihagemann/turbo. Triage the improvements backlog at .turbo/improvements.md: merge duplicate entries, state the user story or simplification behind each one, and decide with the user which to keep and which to drop. Use when the user asks to "triage improvements", "triage the backlog", "clean up the backlog", "clean up improvements", "groom the backlog", "prune the improvements backlog", or "go through the backlog with me".
Its SKILL.md is about 960 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Product & Project Management, covering User stories. It works with Git. The repository describes itself as: Reusable workflows for planning, building, reviewing, and shipping with Claude Code and Codex. The licence is MIT.
4 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 931eda5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
gitFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Triage Improvements loads about 963 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 107 tokens; SKILL.md has 534 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from tobihagemann/turbo at commit 931eda5, republished under its MIT licence (© tobihagemann). 534 words, ~963 tokens.
.claude/skills/triage-improvements/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Decide, entry by entry, which improvements in .turbo/improvements.md are worth keeping.
Read .turbo/improvements.md, relative to the repo root resolved with git rev-parse --show-toplevel, except inside a linked worktree — where git rev-parse --git-dir differs from --git-common-dir — in which case use the parent of the common dir. When the file does not exist or holds no entries, present "No improvements to triage." Then call update_plan to mark this step completed and continue with the next step of the active workflow.
Merge entries that cover the same improvement into one entry that keeps every detail either held, write the merged entries back, and output which ones were merged. Update each Paired with line in counterpart entries that names a title the merge retired.
Number the remaining entries in file order.
Work from each entry's own text. Read the code an entry names only when its text is too thin to say what the entry is for.
For each entry, settle the two parts its question in Step 3 carries, without outputting them yet:
Recommend keeping an entry that serves a goal the person using the software actually has, fixes a problem that was observed, or simplifies existing code. Recommend dropping one that is theoretical or was never observed, is decoration, would be resolved by another entry's fix, or adds machinery no requirement demands. For an entry carrying a Revisit line, apply these criteria to the fuller version it describes as though its condition held; the condition being unmet is no ground to drop it. When the entry's text settles neither, recommend neither and name what is unclear.
Use request_user_input, one question per entry in number order, filling each call to its three-question limit:
#<number>After each call, delete the entries the user dropped from .turbo/improvements.md. When a dropped entry carries a Paired with line, remove that reference from each counterpart entry it names. When an answer asks a question or gives an instruction in place of a choice, act on it, then ask about that entry again when keep or drop is still open.
Repeat until every entry is decided.
Delete .turbo/improvements.md when no entries remain. Output the entry count as read and the count remaining, followed by the summaries of the dropped and merged entries.
Then call update_plan to mark this step completed and continue with the next step of the active workflow.

Triage Improvements is an agent skill from tobihagemann/turbo.md: merge duplicate entries, state the user story or simplification behind each one, and decide with the user which to keep and which to drop.
Triage Improvements fits situations like: the user asks to triage improvements; triage the backlog; clean up the backlog; clean up improvements.
Run `npx skills add tobihagemann/turbo --skill triage-improvements -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (codex/skills/triage-improvements in tobihagemann/turbo) into .claude/skills/triage-improvements in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add tobihagemann/turbo --skill triage-improvements -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (codex/skills/triage-improvements in tobihagemann/turbo) into .agents/skills/triage-improvements in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add tobihagemann/turbo --skill triage-improvements -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/triage-improvements, .gemini/skills/triage-improvements, .github/skills/triage-improvements and .opencode/skills/triage-improvements in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Triage Improvements needs the command-line tools its instructions call (git).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Triage Improvements is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 963 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.9k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Triage Improvements: Atomic Spec Orchestrator (ultralisp/ultralisp, 258 stars), Execute Issue (lbedner/aegis-stack, 143 stars), Task Reviewer Chorus (Chorus-AIDLC/Chorus, 1.2k stars) and Acceptance Criteria Check (shopsys/shopsys, 350 stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
