What it does

Team Discover is an agent skill from tikalk/adlc-team-skills. Use when explicit manual re-discovery of team context modules is wanted beyond the injected CDR index (/team-discover) — produces a structured match table with relevance assessments.

Its SKILL.md is about 570 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Development. The repository describes itself as: Agent skills for the Agentic SDLC: team lifecycle (team-boot, team-learn, team-init, team-repair), software factory, evals, CDR lifecycle with confidence scoring, and… The licence is MIT.

Workflow steps

5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Extract domain, technology, patterns, and actions from the task.
  2. Scan the CDR index for matching entries.
  3. Assess relevance: High / Medium / Low.
  4. Read full module bodies for High-relevance entries.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 2dbed36. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Team Discover loads about 568 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 49 tokens; SKILL.md has 280 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

team-discover

Overview

The CDR index is injected into the system prompt at session start by team-boot. The LLM natively matches CDR descriptors against the current task and reads full module bodies on demand. This native matching happens per prompt without invoking this skill.

Use /team-discover when you want a structured discovery table with explicit relevance assessments — for example, when starting a complex feature or verifying which directives apply.

Relationship to team-boot

team-boot is the session bootstrap: it injects the CDR index into the system prompt via the session_start event hook. Per-prompt discovery matching is native — the LLM matches the injected CDR index against the current message on its own, so team-boot does not invoke this skill as part of its bootstrap loop.

/team-discover is user-invoked: run it when you want an explicit, structured re-scan with a relevance-rated table (complex features, audits, or verifying which directives apply). It is not required for normal operation.

Process

  1. Extract domain, technology, patterns, and actions from the task.
  2. Scan the CDR index for matching entries.
  3. Assess relevance: High / Medium / Low.
  4. Read full module bodies for High-relevance entries.
  5. Output:
IDModuleTypeDescriptorRelevance
CDR-2026-003context_modules/personas/admin.mdPersonaAdmin personaHigh
  1. Include PDR/ADR/ChDR matches from project indexes if relevant.
  2. Include: _Searched N CDRs, M PDRs, K ADRs, C ChDRs, J matches found._

Absent Context

If no CDR index was injected at session start: report Searched 0 CDRs — index not injected (unconfigured project or hook failure), reading workspace memory directly, proceed against docs/adlc/memory/ on disk, and continue the task. Never present on-disk fallback rows as injected context. Recovery: run /team-diagnose.

Unconfigured projects

If team AI directives are not configured, invoke team-setup.

How do I install Team Discover in Claude Code?

Run `npx skills add tikalk/adlc-team-skills --skill team-discover -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/team/team-discover in tikalk/adlc-team-skills) into .claude/skills/team-discover in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

How do I install Team Discover in Codex?

Run `npx skills add tikalk/adlc-team-skills --skill team-discover -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/team/team-discover in tikalk/adlc-team-skills) into .agents/skills/team-discover in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.

Can I use Team Discover in Cursor, Gemini CLI or GitHub Copilot?

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add tikalk/adlc-team-skills --skill team-discover -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/team-discover, .gemini/skills/team-discover, .github/skills/team-discover and .opencode/skills/team-discover in your project.

What does Team Discover need to run?

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Team Discover is instructions for the agent only.

Does Team Discover access the network?

SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.

Is Team Discover safe to install?

Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

What licence does Team Discover use?

Team Discover is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.

How many tokens does Team Discover use?

About 568 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.

What are the alternatives to Team Discover?
