Releasing Php Package
yansongda/pay
A skill your agent uses when preparing to publish a new version of a PHP Composer package and need to write or update CHANGELOG, upgrade guides, and documentation before tagging and releasing
Walks through deprecating an R function or argument in a package: lifecycle warning, silenced tests, a new snapshot test, documentation badge and NEWS entry.

tidy-deprecate-functionWalks through deprecating an R function or argument in a package: lifecycle warning, silenced tests, a new snapshot test, documentation badge and NEWS entry.
Deprecating a function or parameter in an R package takes several coordinated changes, and this skill lists them as a checklist so none is missed. It starts by reading the current version from DESCRIPTION and working out the deprecation version, the next minor release, so a development version of 2.5.1.9000 deprecates in 2.6.0.
Next it adds a lifecycle::deprecate_warn() call that names the version, what is deprecated and an optional replacement, using lifecycle::is_present() to detect a deprecated argument. Existing tests that still use the feature are quieted with withr::local_options and lifecycle_verbosity, a new test using expect_snapshot checks the warning in the matching testthat file, and the tests are run to confirm they pass.
Documentation gets a lifecycle badge, placed in the description for a deprecated function or in the matching param tag for a deprecated argument, and a bullet is added to NEWS.md.
5 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit d5e94e7. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are r and markdown).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Deprecate R Functions and Arguments loads about 1.2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 57 tokens; SKILL.md has 444 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 444 words (~1,249 tokens).

tidyverse/dplyr
Validates arguments of exported R functions with the standalone check_* type checkers from rlang, in tidyverse style with clear error messages.

Deprecate R Functions and Arguments fits situations like: deprecating an exported function in an R package; retiring one argument of a function while keeping it working for now; adding the lifecycle badge, test and NEWS entry for a deprecation.
Run `npx skills add tidyverse/dplyr --skill tidy-deprecate-function -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/tidy-deprecate-function in tidyverse/dplyr) into .claude/skills/tidy-deprecate-function in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add tidyverse/dplyr --skill tidy-deprecate-function -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/tidy-deprecate-function in tidyverse/dplyr) into .agents/skills/tidy-deprecate-function in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add tidyverse/dplyr --skill tidy-deprecate-function -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/tidy-deprecate-function, .gemini/skills/tidy-deprecate-function, .github/skills/tidy-deprecate-function and .opencode/skills/tidy-deprecate-function in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Deprecate R Functions and Arguments is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: An R package using lifecycle, testthat and withr; A DESCRIPTION file with the package version.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Deprecate R Functions and Arguments has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.2k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
