forgetDelete or correct a MemMesh memory. An agent skill from ThinkfleetAI/memmesh.
Forget is an agent skill from ThinkfleetAI/memmesh. Delete or correct a MemMesh memory. Finds the item by search or id, confirms, then soft-deletes (default, sync-safe) or hard-deletes (GDPR/cleanup). Also handles "undo that" for a memory just added, and corrections via supersede. Use when removing outdated/incorrect/sensitive memories or cleaning up after experiments.
Its SKILL.md is about 400 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Legal & Compliance, covering Privacy and GDPR. The repository describes itself as: Persistent, self-improving memory for AI agents. Local-first Rust memory engine with MCP support. The licence is Apache-2.0.
2 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit bba48f8. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are jsonc).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Forget loads about 399 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 82 tokens; SKILL.md has 132 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from ThinkfleetAI/memmesh at commit bba48f8, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© ThinkfleetAI). 132 words, ~399 tokens.

{ "name": "memory_search", "arguments": { "query": "<what to forget>", "projectId": "<repo>", "limit": 10 } }Show the matches (id + content) and ask which to remove.
{ "name": "memory_delete", "arguments": { "id": "<id>" } } // soft: status→rejected, sync-safe
{ "name": "memory_delete", "arguments": { "id": "<id>", "hard": true } } // physical: GDPR / cleanup onlyDefault to soft delete — it stops surfacing in search and propagates the
rejection to peer stores over sync. Use hard: true only for right-to-forget or
operator cleanup.
If the fact changed (not "was wrong to store"), don't delete — record a
correction so provenance survives: memory_observe the new statement, then
memory_supersede the stale id byId the new one. The engine also supersedes
automatically when you observe a contradiction, so plain memory_observe is
often enough.
If the user says "undo that" right after a save, search for the most recent item
in scope (memory_list), confirm it's the one, and memory_delete it.

Forget fits situations like: removing outdated/incorrect/sensitive memories; cleaning up after experiments.
Run `npx skills add ThinkfleetAI/memmesh --skill forget -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (integrations/memmesh-plugin/skills/forget in ThinkfleetAI/memmesh) into .claude/skills/forget in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add ThinkfleetAI/memmesh --skill forget -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/forget, .gemini/skills/forget, .github/skills/forget and .opencode/skills/forget in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Forget is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Forget is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 399 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
