At a glance

A skill your agent uses when auditing a web page's social sharing metadata.

What it does

Og Tags is an agent skill from thedaviddias/Front-End-Checklist. Use when auditing a web page's social sharing metadata. Applies to any page users might share on social networks or messaging apps.

Its SKILL.md is about 500 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/rule.md`).

The repository describes itself as: 🗂 The essential checklist for modern web development, for humans and AI agents. The licence is MIT.

Example prompts

  • “/og-tags”

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit e8d14d0. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

  • Network

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Og Tags loads about 495 tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.5k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 35 tokens; SKILL.md has 221 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~35
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~495
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~1.5k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Open Graph Tags

Open Graph tags control how your pages appear when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, and other platforms—missing or incorrect tags result in unappealing link previews that reduce click-through rates.

Quick Reference

  • Include og:title, og:description, og:image, and og:url on every page
  • Use absolute URLs for og:image and og:url
  • og:image should be at least 1200×630 px for optimal display
  • og:type defaults to 'website' if omitted, but setting it explicitly is best practice

Check

Check the <head> for Open Graph meta tags: og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, and og:type. Verify all values are non-empty and og:image/og:url use absolute HTTPS URLs.

Fix

Add the four required Open Graph meta tags to the <head>: og:title (≤95 chars), og:description (≤200 chars), og:image (absolute HTTPS URL, 1200×630), og:url (canonical absolute URL). Add og:type='website' for standard pages.

Explain

Open Graph tags control how this page is displayed when shared on social platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Slack. Without them, platforms fall back to guessing the title, description, and image, often with poor results.

Code Review

Check the rendered <head> for all five core OG properties: og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, og:type. Verify og:image and og:url values start with 'https://'. Flag any empty content attributes. Compare og:url against the canonical tag — they must match exactly.
