What it does

Architect is an agent skill from TheBeardedBearSAS/claude-craft. Phase d'architecture systématique AVANT le code (TDD). Use when starting a new feature that touches multiple files, designing a new module, or making non-trivial architectural choices.

Its SKILL.md is about 1.2k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Testing & QA, covering Test-driven development. The repository describes itself as: Supercharge Claude Code with Expert Knowledge A comprehensive framework for AI-assisted development. Install standardized rules, agents, and commands for your projects across… The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • Starting a new feature that touches multiple files
  • Designing a new module
  • Making non-trivial architectural choices

Example prompts

  • “/architect”

Workflow steps

5 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

  1. Identifier les boundaries
  2. Définir les contrats
  3. Dessiner les dépendances
  4. Lister les trade-offs
  5. Définir les tests d'architecture

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 99c1ee3. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

    • github.com

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Architect loads about 1.2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 49 tokens; SKILL.md has 466 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~49
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.2k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Quand utiliser

SituationArchitect phase ?
Bug 1 fichier❌ Non (go direct TDD)
Nouvelle feature < 3 fichiers⚠️ Court (10 min)
Nouvelle feature > 3 fichiers✅ Obligatoire
Nouveau module/bounded context✅ Obligatoire
Migration technique✅ Obligatoire
Intégration externe (API, MQ, DB)✅ Obligatoire

Processus en 5 étapes

1. Identifier les boundaries

Quelles frontières la feature touche-t-elle ?

  • Domain boundaries — quels bounded contexts impliqués ?
  • Layer boundaries — Presentation / Application / Domain / Infrastructure ?
  • Process boundaries — sync HTTP / async queue / event-driven ?
  • Data boundaries — quelles bases de données, quelles tables ?
  • Ownership boundaries — quelle équipe owne quel morceau ?

Output : liste des frontières traversées.

2. Définir les contrats

Pour chaque frontière traversée, définir le contrat :

  • Inputs : format, types, invariants, nullabilité
  • Outputs : format, codes d'erreur, latence cible
  • Side effects : écritures DB, events émis, appels externes
  • Idempotence : le contrat est-il idempotent ?
  • Transactions : atomique ? eventually consistent ?

Output : signatures de fonctions/endpoints + DTO.

3. Dessiner les dépendances

Qui dépend de quoi ? Dans quel sens ?

[HTTP Controller] ──▶ [Use Case] ──▶ [Domain Service]
                                          │
                                          ▼
                                     [Repository] (interface)
                                          │
                                          ▼
                        [Postgres Adapter] ─implements─▶

Show full SKILL.md (194 more words)Show less

Anti-patterns

Anti-patternSolution
Coder directement sans diagrammeDessiner AVANT, même 5 min suffisent
Architect phase > 2h sur feature simpleYAGNI — couper court
Contrats flous ("objet User")Types stricts, tous les champs
Ignorer les trade-offsADR court obligatoire

Intégration Claude Craft

  • /workflow:design — utilise ce skill par défaut
  • Agent @tech-lead — peut produire l'output Architect
  • ADR formel : voir /common:architecture-decision
  • Rule 04 SOLID + Rule 17 CQRS + Rule 14 Multitenant — consulter selon contexte
