Simplify is an agent skill from tellahq/opensession. Clean up the changed code without changing behavior — review the diff for reuse, simplification, efficiency, and altitude cleanups via 4 parallel agents, then apply the fixes
Its SKILL.md is about 830 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Agent Workflows, covering Subagents and Code review. It works with Git. The licence is MIT.
3 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit b7d90b6. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
gitFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Simplify loads about 834 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 46 tokens; SKILL.md has 486 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from tellahq/opensession at commit b7d90b6, republished under its MIT licence (© tellahq). 486 words, ~834 tokens.

You are improving the quality of the changed code, not hunting for bugs. Review it for reuse, simplification, efficiency, and altitude issues, then fix what you find. Do not look for correctness bugs — that is what a code review is for.
If $ARGUMENTS names a target (a path, a commit, a ref range, a PR number),
treat it as scope guidance and establish the diff from it. Otherwise review the
current change:
git diff HEAD (plus git status --short for new files).git diff @{upstream}...HEAD, falling back to git diff origin/main...HEAD
when there is no upstream.Read the diff, and read enough of each enclosing function or file to judge the change in context. If the diff is empty, say so and stop.
Launch 4 independent review agents via the task tool (subagent_type: "explore"), all in a single message so they run concurrently. Pass each
agent the diff, the files it touches, and exactly one of the four angles below.
Each returns its findings with file, line, a one-line summary, and the
concrete cost (what is duplicated, wasted, or harder to maintain).
Flag places the diff re-implements something the codebase already has — grep shared/utility modules and files adjacent to the change, and name the existing helper to call instead.
Flag unnecessary complexity the diff adds: redundant or derivable state, copy-paste with slight variation, deep nesting, dead code left behind. Name the simpler form that does the same job.
Flag wasted work the diff introduces: redundant computation or repeated I/O, independent operations run sequentially, blocking work added to startup or hot paths. Also flag long-lived objects built from closures or captured environments — they keep the entire enclosing scope alive for the object's lifetime (a memory leak when that scope holds large values); prefer a class/struct that copies only the fields it needs. Name the cheaper alternative.
Check that each change is implemented at the right depth, not as a fragile bandaid. Special cases layered on shared infrastructure are a sign the fix isn't deep enough — prefer generalizing the underlying mechanism over adding special cases.
Wait for all four agents to complete, dedup findings that point at the same line or mechanism, and fix each remaining one directly. Skip any finding whose fix would change intended behavior, require changes well outside the reviewed diff, or that you judge to be a false positive — note the skip rather than arguing with it. Finish with a brief summary of what was fixed and what was skipped (or confirm the code was already clean).
Behavior must not change. If a cleanup is only safe alongside a behavior change, don't make it — report it as a suggestion instead.

Clean up the changed code without changing behavior — review the diff for reuse, simplification, efficiency, and altitude cleanups via 4 parallel agents, then apply the fixes. Simplify is an agent skill from tellahq/opensession.
Simplify fits situations like: tasks that involve Subagents; tasks that involve Code review.
Run `npx skills add tellahq/opensession --skill simplify -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/simplify in tellahq/opensession) into .claude/skills/simplify in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add tellahq/opensession --skill simplify -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/simplify in tellahq/opensession) into .agents/skills/simplify in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add tellahq/opensession --skill simplify -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/simplify, .gemini/skills/simplify, .github/skills/simplify and .opencode/skills/simplify in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Simplify needs the command-line tools its instructions call (git).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Simplify is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 834 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
