What it does

Terraform GCP is an agent skill from sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills. Provision GCP infrastructure with Terraform. Configure providers and deploy Google Cloud resources. Use when implementing IaC for GCP.

Its SKILL.md is about 3.1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts. Compatibility notes: Requires the relevant OS/platform tooling and privileged access where noted. Docs-only; helper scripts and templates not bundled.

It sits in DevOps & Cloud, covering Infrastructure as code. It works with Google Cloud and Terraform. The repository describes itself as: AAS Core is the local, agent-first control plane for complete catalog discovery, agent-owned selection, stack validation, and planning, backed by 2,400+ agentic skills. Includes… The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • Implementing IaC for GCP
  • Tasks that involve Infrastructure as code

Example prompts

  • “/terraform-gcp”

Requirements

  • Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Requires the relevant OS/platform tooling and privileged access where noted. Docs-only; helper scripts and templates not bundled.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 1c7bdea. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • terraform
    • gcloud

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:

    • googleapis.com

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:

    • GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

  • Compatibility

Requires the relevant OS/platform tooling and privileged access where noted. Docs-only; helper scripts and templates not bundled.

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

Context cost

Terraform GCP loads about 3.1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 37 tokens; SKILL.md has 254 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~37
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~3.1k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Terraform GCP

Provision and manage Google Cloud Platform infrastructure using Terraform with the hashicorp/google provider.

When to Use

  • Defining GCP infrastructure as code for repeatable, auditable deployments
  • Managing multi-environment setups (dev, staging, production) from a single codebase
  • Provisioning complex resource graphs (VPC + GKE + Cloud SQL + IAM) in one plan
  • Integrating infrastructure changes into CI/CD pipelines with plan/apply stages

Prerequisites

  • Terraform >= 1.5 installed
  • Google Cloud SDK or a service account key for CI
  • A GCP project with billing enabled
bash
gcloud auth application-default login # local dev
export GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS="sa.json" # CI/CD
terraform version

Provider Configuration

Questions about Terraform GCP

What does Terraform GCP do?

Provision GCP infrastructure with Terraform. An agent skill from sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills. Terraform GCP is an agent skill from sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills. Provision GCP infrastructure with Terraform.

When should I use Terraform GCP?

Terraform GCP fits situations like: implementing IaC for GCP; tasks that involve Infrastructure as code.

How do I install Terraform GCP in Claude Code?

Run `npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill terraform-gcp -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/terraform-gcp in sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills) into .claude/skills/terraform-gcp in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

How do I install Terraform GCP in Codex?

Run `npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill terraform-gcp -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/terraform-gcp in sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills) into .agents/skills/terraform-gcp in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.

Can I use Terraform GCP in Cursor, Gemini CLI or GitHub Copilot?

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill terraform-gcp -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/terraform-gcp, .gemini/skills/terraform-gcp, .github/skills/terraform-gcp and .opencode/skills/terraform-gcp in your project.

What does Terraform GCP need to run?

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Terraform GCP needs the command-line tools its instructions call (terraform and gcloud) and credentials named GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS. Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Requires the relevant OS/platform tooling and privileged access where noted. Docs-only; helper scripts and templates not bundled..

Does Terraform GCP access the network?

SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: googleapis.com; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.

Is Terraform GCP safe to install?

Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

What licence does Terraform GCP use?

Terraform GCP is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.

How many tokens does Terraform GCP use?

About 3.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 12k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.

What are the alternatives to Terraform GCP?

Skills that share tags, products or a category with Terraform GCP: Senior DevOps Toolkit (maslennikov-ig/claude-code-orchestrator-kit, 260 stars), Terravision Cloud Diagrams (patrickchugh/terravision, 1.6k stars), Terrashark (LukasNiessen/terrashark, 716 stars) and Provider Verification (mondoohq/mql, 412 stars).
