billing-automationCovers building subscription billing: billing cycles, subscription states, invoice generation, proration, tax handling and dunning for failed payments.
The skill lays out the building blocks of a recurring billing system: billing intervals from weekly to annual plus usage-based and per-seat options, a subscription lifecycle that moves through trial, active, past due, canceled, paused and resumed, and automated invoice generation and delivery.
Dunning is described as retry schedules, customer notifications, grace periods and account restrictions for failed payments. Proration covers mid-cycle upgrades and downgrades, seat changes and switching billing frequency, and tax handling covers sales tax, VAT and GST. A short Python quick start shows a billing engine with subscriptions, and `references/details.md` holds longer patterns and examples.

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Billing Automation loads about 473 tokens when it runs, and up to ~4.3k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 60 tokens; SKILL.md has 132 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Covers building subscription billing: billing cycles, subscription states, invoice generation, proration, tax handling and dunning for failed payments. The skill lays out the building blocks of a recurring billing system: billing intervals from weekly to annual plus usage-based and per-seat options, a subscription lifecycle that moves through trial, active, past due, canceled, paused and resumed, and automated invoice generation and delivery.
Billing Automation fits situations like: implementing subscription billing for a SaaS product; recovering failed payments with retries, notices and grace periods; calculating prorated charges when a customer changes plans or seats; automating invoice generation and delivery.
Run `npx skills add wshobson/agents --skill billing-automation -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/payment-processing/skills/billing-automation in wshobson/agents) into .claude/skills/billing-automation in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add wshobson/agents --skill billing-automation -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/payment-processing/skills/billing-automation in wshobson/agents) into .agents/skills/billing-automation in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add wshobson/agents --skill billing-automation -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/billing-automation, .gemini/skills/billing-automation, .github/skills/billing-automation and .opencode/skills/billing-automation in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Billing Automation is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Billing Automation is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 473 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.9k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 3.9k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
