acarshub-socket-namespaceUse ONLY when working in the docker-acarshub repository AND touching socket.io code -- emit / on / connect calls on either the React frontend or the Fastify backend.
Acarshub Socket Namespace is an agent skill from sdr-enthusiasts/docker-acarshub. Use ONLY when working in the docker-acarshub repository AND touching socket.io code -- emit / on / connect calls on either the React frontend or the Fastify backend. Codifies the /main namespace binding that's done at construction time and the historical Flask-SocketIO-quirk pitfall: do NOT pass "/main" as an extra argument to socket.emit(...) calls.
Its SKILL.md is about 710 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in DevOps & Cloud, covering Realtime and WebSockets and Containers. It works with Docker, Flask, Fastify and React. The repository describes itself as: Docker container to utilize RTLSDR dongle(s) to view/stream ACARS/VDLM2 aircraft data transmissions. The licence is GPL-3.0.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 862da2a. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are typescript).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Acarshub Socket Namespace loads about 710 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 96 tokens; SKILL.md has 276 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from sdr-enthusiasts/docker-acarshub at commit 862da2a, republished under its GPL-3.0 licence (© sdr-enthusiasts). 276 words, ~710 tokens.
.claude/skills/acarshub-socket-namespace/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder)./main namespace is bound at constructionThe frontend connects to the /main namespace at construction
time:
const socket = io(`${origin}/main`, { ... });The backend binds handlers via io.of("/main"). Once the
constructor URL includes the namespace, all subsequent
socket.emit(...) and socket.on(...) calls implicitly use it.
Do NOT pass "/main" as an extra argument to emits:
// Wrong -- the extra "/main" is silently consumed as a 2nd handler param
// a future handler that adds a second parameter would silently
// consume it and the bug would be invisible.
socket.emit("query_search", payload, "/main");
// Right
socket.emit("query_search", payload);This pattern was a quirk of the Flask-SocketIO Python client
that lived in the old Python backend. When the backend was ported
to Node Socket.IO v4 (in tasks TYPE-01 / TYPE-02; commit pinned in
agent-docs/REMEDIATION_PLAN.md), the trailing "/main"
arguments became dead-but-harmless code. They were removed during
that port. Do not re-introduce them, including in copy-pasted
examples from older agent sessions, old git history, or
documentation that predates the port.
Backend -> frontend (frontend socket.on(...)):
acars_msg -- new ACARS messageadsb_aircraft -- ADS-B aircraft positionssystem_status -- backend health statusterms -- alert term updatesdatabase_search_results -- search resultsFrontend -> backend (frontend socket.emit(...)):
query_search -- database search requestupdate_alerts -- update alert termsrequest_status -- request system statusFull event catalogue (with payload shapes) is the responsibility
of the typed acarshub-types package. When adding an event, add
it there first, then on both ends.
"/main" arg becomes a real bug.© sdr-enthusiasts, GPL-3.0. Rendered from Markdown: HTML in the file is shown as text, images as links, and headings moved down two levels. Raw file

Acarshub Socket Namespace fits situations like: tasks that involve Realtime and WebSockets; tasks that involve Containers.
Run `npx skills add sdr-enthusiasts/docker-acarshub --skill acarshub-socket-namespace -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.opencode/skills/acarshub-socket-namespace in sdr-enthusiasts/docker-acarshub) into .claude/skills/acarshub-socket-namespace in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add sdr-enthusiasts/docker-acarshub --skill acarshub-socket-namespace -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.opencode/skills/acarshub-socket-namespace in sdr-enthusiasts/docker-acarshub) into .agents/skills/acarshub-socket-namespace in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add sdr-enthusiasts/docker-acarshub --skill acarshub-socket-namespace -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/acarshub-socket-namespace, .gemini/skills/acarshub-socket-namespace, .github/skills/acarshub-socket-namespace and .opencode/skills/acarshub-socket-namespace in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Acarshub Socket Namespace is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: Python 3; Docker.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Acarshub Socket Namespace is published under the GPL-3.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 710 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
