resolve-audioAudio and Fairlight work in the DaVinci Resolve MCP. An agent skill from samuelgursky/davinci-resolve-mcp.
Resolve Audio is an agent skill from samuelgursky/davinci-resolve-mcp. Audio and Fairlight work in the DaVinci Resolve MCP. Apply when setting audio properties, syncing audio, isolating voice, generating subtitles, planning Fairlight track/bus layouts, checking loudness, routing buses, or splitting/trimming/converting audio — live in a running Resolve OR offline. Routes to the live audio tools, the offline audio planning/bus-routing tools, and the Fairlight kernel.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.3k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Media & Creative, covering Transcription and MCP servers. It works with Model Context Protocol. The repository describes itself as: MCP server integration for DaVinci Resolve Studio. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 94c7a88. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Resolve Audio loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 103 tokens; SKILL.md has 597 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from samuelgursky/davinci-resolve-mcp at commit 94c7a88, republished under its MIT licence (© samuelgursky). 597 words, ~1,307 tokens.

audio_plan, fairlight, audio. If the ask is "make this sound balanced" rather than "route these buses", start with
media_analysis mix_plan (Python server, no Resolve needed). Give it the dialogue stems
and it derives the dialogue-normalisation gain, the music-bed level under it, and ducking
windows from the dialogue's own silence — then renders a premix and measures it, so
what you report is the loudness achieved rather than the gain arithmetic.
dry_run defaults to true: show the gains and the window count first. On a
full-programme standard (ebu_r128, web) a measured programme trim lands the whole mix
on target; on ott_dialogue_gated it deliberately does not trim, because dialogue is the
figure being graded. Flags (loudness_off_target, true_peak_over, clipped) come back
with remedies and are never auto-corrected — report them, do not paper over them.

atsc_a85, ott_dialogue_gated. Attach one to a delivery target and hand the
emitted loudness_target.target to advanced loudness_qc. See the delivery
skill for why dialogue-gated standards assert true peak only.plan_silence_ripple calibrates its own gate. Omit threshold_db and the
threshold is measured from that clip's own dynamics (astats trough vs peak),
per item, reported in calibrations[]. A fixed −30 dB under-detects on quiet
location sound and over-cuts a noisy room.threshold_db explicitly to override; it is honoured untouched.SetProperty (e.g. Volume) can return false for some
generated item types; AutoSyncAudio depends on media + Resolve's sync engine.fairlight for bus structure, not automation.GetFairlightPresets + ApplyFairlightPresetToCurrentTimeline,
which apply a saved mix wholesale. Both require Resolve 20.2.2+ and are
absent on 19.1.3 (confirmed live). So on an older build the per-parameter gap
is the entire story and there is no workaround to offer — check with
resolve_control check_version_support before proposing one, and say the build
is too old rather than suggesting a call that will not be there.Resolve, Project, Timeline or TimelineItem
(issue #128). Presets cover the repeatable-template case, never the
content-adaptive one.Never modify/transcode/derive source media (AGENTS.md) — the offline audio ops
write NEW files to scratch, never over source.

Resolve Audio fits situations like: tasks that involve Transcription; tasks that involve MCP servers.
Run `npx skills add samuelgursky/davinci-resolve-mcp --skill resolve-audio -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/resolve-audio in samuelgursky/davinci-resolve-mcp) into .claude/skills/resolve-audio in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add samuelgursky/davinci-resolve-mcp --skill resolve-audio -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/resolve-audio, .gemini/skills/resolve-audio, .github/skills/resolve-audio and .opencode/skills/resolve-audio in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Resolve Audio is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: Python 3.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Resolve Audio is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
