Datapages is an agent skill from romshark/datapages. Apply the Datapages framework rules, build loop and naming conventions, and select the relevant task skill. Use for work in a Datapages app package, template or server entry point. Read datapages-architecture first when starting an app or designing a feature.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.9k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It works with Go. The repository describes itself as: A Datastar Go web frontend framework. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 87d5a44. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
goFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Datapages loads about 1.9k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 68 tokens; SKILL.md has 988 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from romshark/datapages at commit 87d5a44, republished under its MIT licence (© romshark). 988 words, ~1,916 tokens.
.claude/skills/datapages/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Write Go handlers and Templ templates. datapages gen generates routing, handler registration, SSE and session code. It also generates the type-safe href and action packages.
Read datapages-architecture first when starting an app or designing a new feature. It explains how to select the required Datapages constructs. Then read the task-specific skills below.
Write the app model first, then generate its helpers before templates call them:
datapages gen
templ generate # after any .templ change, and never while datapages watch runs
datapages lint
go build ./...datapages gen reports parse errors and suggested fixes on stderr. Fix the app package and run it again. It also runs go mod tidy. A tidy failure makes the command fail even when code generation succeeded. datapages lint performs the checks without generating files.
An earlier templ generate can produce references to helpers that do not exist yet. Remove those references, run templ generate, then run datapages gen. Restore the references and run templ generate again. After an initial parse failure, the generator may write empty stub helper packages.
Use Templ v0.3.1070, which the generated CI workflow pins. Use datapages watch as the local development server.
templ generate while datapages watch runsRunning templ generate interrupts the development server. datapages watch runs templ in watch mode, which reads application template strings from files in the temporary directory. A separate templ generate deletes those files when it exits. The server cannot render again until the next .templ change recreates them.
Check before generating. datapages watch keeps one lock file per module fresh in the datapages-watch directory under the system temporary directory ($TMPDIR on macOS, /tmp on Linux, %TEMP% on Windows). A .lock file written less than 10 seconds ago means a watch is running. The file contains its PID, module directory, and development server host:
ls -lt "${TMPDIR:-/tmp}/datapages-watch" # inspect lock modification times
pgrep -f "datapages watch" # POSIX process checkThe watcher regenerates changed files. Wait for it. To generate manually, stop the watcher first and restart it afterward.
The restriction also applies to commands that invoke templ generate, including wrapper targets in make or Mage.
To restore rendering, save a .templ file or restart the watcher.
_gen.go file, anything under datapagesgen/, or a file with a DO NOT EDIT header. Change the source and regenerate.href.PageX() for links, action.PageX.Y.POST() for page actions and action.App.Y.POST() for app actions.<form> elements through Datastar actions. Browser form submissions do not carry the CSRF token; see datapages-templates.Datapages routes the request, hands the handler its session and escapes what Templ and the href, action and subject helpers write. The rest is on the application code:
datapages.ErrForbidden for authorization errors, wrapped or bare. The error message is logged.json.Marshal, never with fmt.Sprintf("'%s'", v). See datapages-templates.templ.Raw. Writes markup verbatim. Pass only markup the server built.href.PageX() and a datapages.Subject field escape their values. A string you concatenate does not.pageCache.Set stores a page body in the browser's cache. It survives a sign-out until a handler clears it. Call ClearAll() on sign-in and sign-out. See datapages-offline.A value Templ interpolates into text or into an attribute is already escaped. Escaping it again shows the escape sequence to the visitor.
SECURITY.md in the Datapages repository carries the full list, including what belongs to the deployment.
The parser reads names and doc comments. Both decide behaviour.
| kind | name | doc comment |
|---|---|---|
| page | Page + uppercase + alnum | // PageX is /route |
| action | POST/PUT/PATCH/DELETE/QUERY + uppercase + alnum | // POSTX is /route |
| event | Event + uppercase + alnum | // EventX is "subject.name" |
| event handler | On + the event name after Event: OnFoo for EventFoo | none |
| stream hook | StreamOpen, StreamClose | none |
| assets | any embed.FS variable | // StaticFS is /static/ |
Do not use underscores or a lowercase letter after the prefix. The word is is required. Quote event subjects but not routes. If a route comment has more text, add a blank // line after its first line.
PageIndex, the page for /, is required. No other page may use /. A page struct declares App *App and no other named field. It may also embed types. Page methods use value receivers. App methods such as Head, RecoverError and app actions use *App.
The generator matches handler parameters and return values by type, not by position. Parameter names are unrestricted except for stateID. Declare only the values that the handler needs.
The generated server implements http.Handler. Test it by sending requests with httptest. Set Datastar-Request: true for a Datastar action. For a stateful tab, copy the Datapages-Instance value from the page response to its action and stream requests. Assert the HTTP status and returned HTML or SSE events. A successful go build ./... alone does not test request behavior.

redis/go-redis
Walks through adding a new Redis or Redis module command to the go-redis client, from fetching the spec and docs to the type, interface wiring, parsing and tests.
chromedp/chromedp
This skill should be used when the user is writing Go code and needs guidance on Go-specific pedantry: error wrapping with fmt.Errorf and %w, interface design (accept interfaces return structs)…
apache/fory
Prepare an Apache Fory release candidate from a clean release branch, including the version bump, RC tag, JVM staging, ASF source artifacts, SVN upload, and vote email.
OrchestratorInc/agent-orchestrator
Launches, restarts and troubleshoots the real AO Electron desktop app from a checkout, with isolated or real local data and checks for stale processes.
redis/go-redis
Prepares a go-redis release locally: picks the next semver, gathers merged PRs, writes the RELEASE-NOTES entry and bumps versions, without publishing.
amir20/dozzle
Starts a Dozzle dev server on a port derived from the current worktree so you can test by hand in a browser, without disturbing instances started elsewhere.
romshark/datapages
Datapages real-time events: event types and subjects, dispatchers, On handlers, per-user and signal-bound subject fields, and the StreamOpen and StreamClose hooks.
romshark/datapages
Add Datapages authentication: define and read the Session type, open and close sessions, configure CSRF protection and choose a session manager.
romshark/datapages
Add per-tab Datapages State[T], initialize and use it in handlers, dispatch state-scoped events, and configure the live instance limit.
romshark/datapages
Classify Datapages findings by reach and severity and write review-.md reports.
romshark/datapages
Write Datapages commit messages, including the breaking-change marker and the BREAKING block.
romshark/datapages
Write Datapages action handlers (POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE, QUERY): parameters, return values, Datastar signals, SSE patching, HTTP error status codes and the RecoverError hook.

Datapages fits situations like: work in a Datapages app package; server entry point.
Run `npx skills add romshark/datapages --skill datapages -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (internal/generator/agentdocs/data/skills/datapages in romshark/datapages) into .claude/skills/datapages in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add romshark/datapages --skill datapages -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (internal/generator/agentdocs/data/skills/datapages in romshark/datapages) into .agents/skills/datapages in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add romshark/datapages --skill datapages -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/datapages, .gemini/skills/datapages, .github/skills/datapages and .opencode/skills/datapages in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Datapages needs the command-line tools its instructions call (go).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Datapages is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.9k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 7.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
