git-commit-formatterMakes the agent write every git commit message in the Conventional Commits format, with a type, optional scope, short description and breaking-change footer.
Every commit message follows one shape: a type, an optional scope in parentheses, a colon and a short description, as in feat(auth): implement login with google. Eight types are allowed, each defined in a line: feat, fix, docs, style, refactor, perf, test and chore.
The agent first analyzes the changes to choose the main type, then identifies a scope such as a component or file when one applies. It writes a concise description in the imperative mood (add feature, not added feature) and adds a footer beginning with BREAKING CHANGE: when the change breaks compatibility.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 731acca. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Git Commit Formatter loads about 311 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 43 tokens; SKILL.md has 146 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 146 words (~311 tokens).
“When writing a git commit message, you MUST follow the Conventional Commits specification.”

Makes the agent write every git commit message in the Conventional Commits format, with a type, optional scope, short description and breaking-change footer. Every commit message follows one shape: a type, an optional scope in parentheses, a colon and a short description, as in feat(auth): implement login with google. Eight types are allowed, each defined in a line: feat, fix, docs, style, refactor, perf, test and chore.
Git Commit Formatter fits situations like: writing a commit message for staged changes; committing a bug fix or new feature with a conventional type; marking a breaking change in the commit footer.
Run `npx skills add rominirani/antigravity-skills --skill git-commit-formatter -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills_tutorial/git-commit-formatter in rominirani/antigravity-skills) into .claude/skills/git-commit-formatter in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add rominirani/antigravity-skills --skill git-commit-formatter -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills_tutorial/git-commit-formatter in rominirani/antigravity-skills) into .agents/skills/git-commit-formatter in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add rominirani/antigravity-skills --skill git-commit-formatter -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/git-commit-formatter, .gemini/skills/git-commit-formatter, .github/skills/git-commit-formatter and .opencode/skills/git-commit-formatter in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Git Commit Formatter is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
No licence was found for Git Commit Formatter or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 311 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Git Commit Formatter: ToolJet Multi-Repo Commit (ToolJet/ToolJet, 41k stars), Git Workflow and Versioning (addyosmani/agent-skills, 102k stars), React Router Pull Request Creator (remix-run/react-router, 57k stars) and Saleor Commit Workflow (saleor/saleor, 23k stars).
