Babashka is an agent skill from PEZ/epupp. Babashka scripting conventions for the Epupp project. Use when: writing or modifying bb.edn tasks, scripts in scripts/, build or test automation, choosing between bb and npx/npm/shell/Python, using babashka.fs, babashka.process, or babashka.http-client, or running any bb command in this repo. Prefer bb tasks over direct npm/npx; keep bb.edn minimal and put code in scripts/tasks.clj. IMPORTANT: Also load when planning automation or build pipeline changes.
Its SKILL.md is about 360 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in DevOps & Cloud, covering CI/CD. It works with Python and npm. The repository describes itself as: A web browser extension that lets you tamper with web pages, live and/or with userscripts. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 566ce34. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
pythonFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):
github.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Babashka loads about 360 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 117 tokens; SKILL.md has 121 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from PEZ/epupp at commit 566ce34, republished under its MIT licence (© PEZ). 121 words, ~360 tokens.
.claude/skills/babashka/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This project uses Babashka, a fast-starting Clojure interpreter for scripting and automation.
Don't put anything but the minimum code snippets in bb.edn. Use scripts/tasks.clj for code and call them from bb tasks.
Prefer Babashka built-in utilities over Python, shell scripts, or other external tools when functionality overlaps. The project uses Babashka extensively and has dependencies loaded.
Common replacements:
bb test:server or babashka.http-server instead of python -m http.serverbabashka.fs instead of shell commands (cp, mv, rm, find, etc.)babashka.process instead of raw shell scriptsbabashka.http-client instead of curl or wgetCheck bb.edn dependencies and existing tasks before reaching for external tools.

Run `npx skills add PEZ/epupp --skill babashka -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.github/skills/babashka in PEZ/epupp) into .claude/skills/babashka in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add PEZ/epupp --skill babashka -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.github/skills/babashka in PEZ/epupp) into .agents/skills/babashka in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add PEZ/epupp --skill babashka -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/babashka, .gemini/skills/babashka, .github/skills/babashka and .opencode/skills/babashka in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Babashka needs the command-line tools its instructions call (python). Our summary lists: Python 3.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. As links in the text: github.com. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Babashka is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 360 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
