pr-descriptionCalculates and keeps up to date the required code, test and other change-count header at the top of a pull request description in this repository.
Every PR description must open with three lines, each on its own Markdown hard-broken line, showing added and deleted counts for code changes, tests and everything else, calculated from the net diff against the PR's actual base: git diff --numstat for a local branch, or GitHub's per-file counts once pushed, recalculated after the final push rather than summed from commit-by-commit churn.
Every changed file counts exactly once into one of three buckets: code changes covers handwritten implementation including SQL, migrations and scripts; tests covers test code, fixtures and test-only helpers; and others covers generated or vendored files, lockfiles, docs and configuration, with generated output going here even when it contains source code. Empty categories still show +0 -0, binaries get a separate mention since they have no line count, and a brief qualifier can be added. The rest of an existing description is left untouched, and it is read back afterward to confirm the header matches the current diff counts and order.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 42d304d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
gitFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
PR Change-Count Header loads about 364 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 33 tokens; SKILL.md has 170 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from OrchestratorInc/agent-orchestrator at commit 42d304d, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© OrchestratorInc). 170 words, ~364 tokens.
.claude/skills/pr-description/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Begin every PR description with these three lines, using Markdown hard line breaks so each renders separately:
Code changes: +<added> -<deleted>
Tests: +<added> -<deleted>
Others: +<added> -<deleted>Calculate the numbers from the net diff against the PR's actual base. For a local
branch, use git diff --numstat <base>...<head>. After pushing, prefer GitHub's
per-file additions and deletions. Recalculate after the final push rather than
summing commit churn or estimating counts.
Count every changed file exactly once:
Show +0 -0 for empty categories. Binary files have no line count; mention their
count separately when present. Add a brief qualifier when useful, such as
Others: +11 -0 (generated sqlc).
Preserve the rest of an existing PR description. After creating or updating the PR, read the published description and verify that its opening lines match the current GitHub diff counts and required order.

Merges external GitHub pull requests while keeping the original author credited, and fixes conflicts after the merge instead of rewriting the contribution.
cline/cline
Opens a GitHub pull request from your current branch with the gh CLI, after reviewing the commits and diff and gathering the details the PR needs.
openinterpreter/openinterpreter
Rewrites the title and body of one or more pull requests with gh, leading with why the change was made, then what changed, and describing only the net result.
prisma/orm
Fetches a pull request's canonical review state as JSON, validates it, and renders markdown, a text summary and triage target files from it using bundled scripts.
redis/jedis
Generate a clear, concise GitHub PR title and description from the diff between two local git branches, and save it to prDescription.md in the repo root.
makeplane/plane
Opens a pull request for the current branch using the repo's template, a work item ID in the title and a description filled in from the actual diff.

Calculates and keeps up to date the required code, test and other change-count header at the top of a pull request description in this repository.
PR Change-Count Header fits situations like: opening a new pull request in this repository; updating an existing PR description after pushing more commits; checking that a PR's change-count header matches the actual diff.
Run `npx skills add OrchestratorInc/agent-orchestrator --skill pr-description -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/pr-description in OrchestratorInc/agent-orchestrator) into .claude/skills/pr-description in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add OrchestratorInc/agent-orchestrator --skill pr-description -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/pr-description in OrchestratorInc/agent-orchestrator) into .agents/skills/pr-description in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add OrchestratorInc/agent-orchestrator --skill pr-description -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/pr-description, .gemini/skills/pr-description, .github/skills/pr-description and .opencode/skills/pr-description in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, PR Change-Count Header needs the command-line tools its instructions call (git). Our summary lists: Git; The gh CLI or GitHub access, to read per-file diff counts after pushing.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
PR Change-Count Header is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 364 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.5k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
