What it does

PR Desc is an agent skill from opencrvs/opencrvs-core. Use when the user asks to write, update, or amend a GitHub PR description — e.g. "update the PR desc", "post it", "ready a draft first", or pastes a github.com/opencrvs PR URL asking to describe the work.

Its SKILL.md is about 620 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Development, covering Pull requests. It works with GitHub. The repository describes itself as: A global solution to civil registration.

When your agent uses it

  • The user asks to write
  • Amend a GitHub PR description — e.g

Example prompts

  • “update the PR desc”
  • “post it”
  • “ready a draft first”
  • “/pr-desc”

Workflow steps

6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Target: use the URL if given, else gh pr view --json number, title, body, url on the current branch. If adding to an existing description…
  2. Draft from session knowledge — don't re-read the diff or re-explore code unless the session genuinely lacks the facts.
  3. Shape: bullet points only, never prose paragraphs. One sentence per bullet — if a bullet needs a second sentence, either cut it or split…
  4. Show the draft, stop, wait for approval. Revise until approved.
  5. Post via body file: gh api repos///pulls/ -X PATCH -f body="$(cat )".
  6. Confirm with the PR URL. Nothing else.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit f1885d3. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • gh

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use gh, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

PR Desc loads about 620 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 53 tokens; SKILL.md has 338 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~53
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~620

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

SKILL.md

Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 338 words (~620 tokens).

“Produce a short PR description from what was done this session, show it as a draft, and post only after explicit approval — even if the user just says "update the PR desc."”
