What it does

Triage Feedback is an agent skill from openathleteorg/openathlete. Gather OpenAthlete user feedback from GitHub (issues, PRs, discussions) and the local Discord export, deduplicate it, prioritize it, and draft replies. Use when asked what users want, what to work on next, or to answer the community.

Its SKILL.md is about 550 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Development. It works with GitHub, Discord and Git. The repository describes itself as: The open-source alternative to TrainingPeaks. Self-hostable endurance training platform. Your data stays yours. The licence is AGPL-3.0.

When your agent uses it

  • Asked what users want
  • What to work on next
  • Answer the community

Example prompts

  • “/triage-feedback”

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Group duplicates across sources, for example a Garmin sync question asked on Discord and in an issue.
  2. Check each item against the code and git log. It may already be fixed: then the right action is a reply, not work.
  3. Classify each item
  4. Note who is waiting for an answer and since when. Unanswered people come first, whatever the topic.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit a3433f0. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • gh
    • git

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use gh and git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Triage Feedback loads about 552 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 62 tokens; SKILL.md has 240 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~62
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~552

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Sources

  • GitHub:
    bash
    R=openathleteorg/openathlete
gh issue list -R $R --state open --json number, title, author, createdAt,comments, labels
    gh pr list -R $R --json number,title,author,createdAt
    gh api graphql -f query='{repository(owner:"openathleteorg",name:"openathlete"){discussions(first:20,orderBy:{field:UPDATED_AT,direction:DESC}){nodes{number title author{login} updatedAt comments{totalCount}}}}}'
For each item with activity, read the body and the last comments.
  • Discord: DISCORD_FEEDBACK.md at the repository root. It is a local export, kept out of git through .git/info/exclude, and must never be committed or quoted publicly. Check its "Extrait le" date; if it is old, ask the maintainer for a fresh export.
  • Production errors: when the Better Stack MCP is connected to the OpenAthlete account, look for errors matching the reports.

Triage

  1. Group duplicates across sources, for example a Garmin sync question asked on Discord and in an issue.
  2. Check each item against the code and git log. It may already be fixed: then the right action is a reply, not work.
  3. Classify each item:
    • type: bug, docs, feature, question;
    • severity: data loss, security or legal first, then broken core flows (login, sync, calendar), then the rest;
    • reach: how many people asked.
  4. Note who is waiting for an answer and since when. Unanswered people come first, whatever the topic.

Output

  • A prioritized table: item, type, severity, sources with dates, status (fixed in <sha> / to do / needs a decision).
  • Draft replies, ready to paste. Use the user's language on Discord and English on GitHub. Be short and specific: what was done, what to do now, or a question.
  • Proposed GitHub issues for confirmed bugs and accepted features, with reproduction steps and acceptance criteria. Show them to the maintainer before creating them.
